The long staircase down from Seaview Terrace is the price of admission, and most dogs think it's worth it. From Beach Access #29 heading north, the sand opens up into a wide, exposed stretch where dogs run off-leash into proper ocean surf. The community here is easy-going, early-rising, and genuinely dog-obsessed. Lifeguards patrol the adjacent patrolled beach, which adds a layer of reassurance if your dog has ideas about swimming further than intended. No shade, no gentle shallows, and limited parking mean you want to arrive before 6:30am on busy mornings. The open sea can be too rough for smaller or nervous dogs. Worth knowing: when high tide swallows Noosa's dog beach, this is the local fallback.
Absolutely love the off-leash area at Sunshine Beach (Access #29 and north)! 🐾 The wide sandy stretch is perfect for dogs to run free and splash in the waves. It’s clean, peaceful, and has a friendly community of dog owners.
Wonderful part of the Australian Coastline, Super chilled and Dogs having a great time off the Leash. Patrolled Beach out the front of Sunshine Beach Surf Life Savings Club. Happy and Helpful Lifeguards.
Must-visit dog beach when you travel in Sunshine Coast. No shady area. Long long stairs looks a bit scary

Noosaville QLD
Cross the footbridge from the sailing club and you're into one of Noosaville's most low-key river parks. Wide open lawns, a shaded pagoda with water access, and enough space to actually breathe. The Sunday Roadrunners car shows are a bonus worth timing your visit around.

Coolum Beach
At low tide, Stumers Creek opens into a wide, flat run of beach where dogs sprint into the shallows and the morning crowd is more calm than chaotic. Pet wash stations, clean bathrooms, good parking. The evening vibe is quieter than you'd expect, and better for it.

Good option for high tide when Noosa dog beach isn’t usable. Lots of sand to run on but the open sea may be too rough for some dogs. Quiet when we arrived (early) but starting to get busy when we were leaving (6.30am-ish) Limited parking available.
Lovely spot in the world. [Accessible only via long and steep staircases. Non-accessible for wheelchairs at this spot.]
Tewantin QLD
A short but steep trail off the old Tewantin-Noosa highway leads to a 360-degree lookout spanning Noosa to Teewah Beach. Go early, bring a picnic, and take the first viewpoint as a warm-up. The summit is worth the sweat.
