Lake Weyba Foreshore Public Park

The suspension bridge is the detail that surprises first-timers. It's a flat, easy loop from there, with the lake opening out wide enough to make sense of why kite boarders treat this as their home base. A south-easterly wind is the signal to come; the water stays knee-deep across most of the lake, which makes it forgiving for beginners and ideal for wing and kite hobbies alike. Dogs are enthusiastically welcome, and the shallow foreshore gives them somewhere to wade. Pack accordingly though: no BBQs, no restrooms, no water taps on site, and the wetland edges can flood after rain. This is a bring-your-own-everything kind of park.
