At low tide, Stumers Creek opens into a wide, flat expanse where dogs sprint flat-out into the shallows and strangers become friends over shared ball-throwing duties. This off-leash beach on Stumers Creek Road in Coolum Beach is the kind of place locals return to every morning without needing a reason. The energy shifts depending on when you arrive: early runs are calm and dog-dense, evenings settle into something quieter and almost neighbourly. Facilities are genuinely good, a clean toilet block with soap, pet wash stations for post-swim rinse-offs, and decent parking. Snakes have been spotted in the surrounding scrub, so keep an eye on smaller dogs near the edges. Come at low tide for maximum space. The reviews are consistent enough to say plainly: this is the best dog beach on the Sunshine Coast.
This is a great place to visit but be aware there are a lot of dogs that are off lead who could be aggressive. There are on lead walks nearby which is a better option. This body of water can sometimes become very polluted when not open at the mouth which is often and dogs have been know to get ear infections or worse. The inland areas of the creek can be very dirty and polluted which is why it needs to be very fresh and running freely at the mouth to be worth swimming in. A nice option is to start with a coffee at Dickie beach or Currimundi lake and walk the path on lead. I know the area well. Be aware of on lead and off lead zones as the fine is over 800 dollars for anyone who does not abide by the rules.
We had a road trip to Sunshine Coast from Brisbane for the first time and ended up at this beautiful beach, perfect for those with doggies. The beach was shallow enough for my non-swimming dog to run around freely, which was great. There were quite a lot of dogs considering it was a Monday morning, but the beach was massive and it didn't feel crowded. Parking lot was also busy but there were some slots available around 10am. Highly recommended!

Noosaville QLD
A riverside park with BBQ facilities, a playground, and calm Noosa River access for swimming and paddleboarding. Dogs welcome on leash. Parking gets tight on weekends, so arrive early or walk in. The kind of local spot that earns its reputation without trying.

Sunshine Beach
Perched above Sunshine Beach with Norfolk pines and open ocean views, Ed Webb Park is the kind of spot locals don't advertise. Sunrise is the move. Bring coffee from somewhere nearby and take your time.

Noosaville QLD
Cross the footbridge from the sailing club and you're into one of Noosaville's most low-key river parks. Wide open lawns, a shaded pagoda with water access, and enough space to actually breathe. The Sunday Roadrunners car shows are a bonus worth timing your visit around.
Summers Beach, an off the leash Dog beach. So much fun watching all these dogs running free in the water and chasing each other around. They all have personalities of there own. Such a beautiful day in the sun. Beware of some snakes. There are some pet showers for your dogs 🐕 and a toilet block for visitors.
Fabulous beach to take your dog to. Lots of dogs loving the freedom of running around, greeting each other, some playing ball, others chasing each other. All having a fabulous time. A wonderfully clean beach with lots of room, lots of parking, friendly locals, and great facilities.
The local council wants to change the limits of the off leash park. This is the best dog park I have ever seen. Why change a place where dogs play with each other or by themselves without any problems. I can't believe seeing so many people using a beach, looking off into the distance. It's an amazing place! PLEASE DON'T CHANGE WHAT ISN'T BROKEN!
