The big breakfast draws repeat visitors, but it's the staff that reviewers keep coming back to. At The Coolum Social, a Birtwill Street café with a locally sourced menu, the welcome feels genuine rather than rehearsed. Gluten-free options are handled with care, the coffee is consistently strong, and the food arrives looking like someone actually thought about the plate. The fish tacos have fans, though a squeeze of lemon wouldn't go astray. The avocado toast at $25 is on the lean side for what arrives, so calibrate expectations accordingly. Busy enough that seating can take a moment, but the staff make the wait feel intentional rather than chaotic.

What People Say
We had an amazing experience here. As soon as we walked in, we felt so welcomed by the staff and felt as though we were worth their time and they actually put effort into seating us. The coffee was fantastic and the food was great. Thanks so much!
Super yummy!! The big breakfast was absolutely fantastic. We got the fish tacos as well and they were quite yummy but needed a hit of lemon or some other tangy flavour. Lovely spot and super delicious. The coffee was amazing.
Okay, I cannot recommend Coolum Social enough… I don’t know why more people arent talking about it. The FOOOOOOD, was absolutely INSANEEEE 😍 the staff were lovely and they were so accommodating for myself and my kiddo! (I’m gf for reference). Again, highly recommend 🫶🏼
Great atmosphere and beautifully presented food however I was slightly disappointed by the portions size of the avocado toast. For $25 it was a one small slice of toast with minimal avocado. Other than that everything tasted amazing!!!
Took my granddaughters here for breakfast and was very impressed. Very friendly staff nice atmosphere and food was amazing. Also presents very nicely and would highly recommend coolum social. Ill definitely be back there next time I'm in town.
More Restaurants & Cafes in Noosa

The Doonan
Doonan
A hinterland pub with two full-time gardeners, mist fans in summer, and a kitchen that takes its food seriously. Pizzas and mains from quality ingredients, a kids' playground that actually works, and gardens worth the drive from Noosa on their own.

Chip 'n' Mix
Noo Heads QLD
Build-your-own loaded chips on Hastings Street, with the Birria sauce as the standout topping. Fun in concept and genuinely casual in feel, though the price-to-portion ratio divides opinion. Good for a novelty lunch near the beach, especially with kids.

United Petroleum Doonan (Pie Face)
Doonan
A servo stop on the Eumundi-Noosa Road with enough pumps to keep queues short and a Pie Face counter for a quick hot bite. Useful when you need fuel and something to eat between the hinterland and the highway. Treat it as convenience, not a destination.

Bang Bang Noosa
Noo Heads QLD
People queue before noon. The garlic chive miang and sticky pork belly are the reasons. Share plates, serious cocktails, and a feed-me banquet that earns its price. Book Thursday through Saturday well in advance or you won't get in.
