The Natural Bridge walk stops most people cold. A waterfall drops through a collapsed cave ceiling into a glowing rock arch, and if you time it right at dusk, the ceiling lights up with glow-worms. Springbrook National Park covers the Gold Coast hinterland plateau with rainforest, ancient trees, and enough walking tracks to fill a full day. Purling Brook Falls and Twin Falls are the headliners, but the lookouts earn their own detour, particularly on a clear day when the coast appears through the canopy. The mountain air runs genuinely cool, a shock after the coastal humidity below. Come early or on a weekday to beat the crowds at the main sites. The winding road up is half the experience.
Springbrook was serene, peaceful and gorgeous. Loved the windy, tree covered road. Several Lookouts, Waterfalls, Walking Tracks. Popular place to visit. There's a Swimming Hole if you're up for it. Found this cute, friendly, homely Cafe. Service was quick and the Food and Coffee was so delicious!!! Definitely recommend a stop there. There was Indoor and Outdoor Dining. I Highly Recommend Springbrook National Park to anyone who loves nature and peace and quiet...
Magnificent natural park with beautiful sights like Natural Bridge (the most beautiful walk I've been on!), the Fudge shop, Purling Falls, the Best Lookout, the Twin Falls, etc.. a must visit! ❤️
Springbrook National Park is absolutely breathtaking — one of the most beautiful rainforest areas I’ve visited in Queensland. The views from the lookouts are incredible, especially on a clear day when you can see all the way to the coast. The Natural Bridge is a must-see, and the walks around Twin Falls and Purling Brook Falls are stunning, with waterfalls, ferns, and ancient trees everywhere. The cool mountain air and peaceful atmosphere make it the perfect escape from the city. Highly recommend taking your time here — every track is worth exploring.

Queensland
Old-growth rainforest, 160 kilometres of trails, and Regent bowerbirds that show up at 6.45am like clockwork. The treetop walk pushes 30 metres above the canopy. Albert's lyrebirds haunt the Border Track entrance most mornings. Two hours from Brisbane, and worth every minute of the drive.

Burleigh Heads
Named after the naturalist who first bred platypus in captivity, this compact Burleigh Heads wildlife park punches above its size. Naturalistic habitats, knowledgeable staff who actually stop to talk, and a bird show worth timing your visit around.

Forty minutes from the coast, the Gold Coast Hinterland holds some of southeast Queensland's best walking tracks. From the glow-worm cave at Natural Bridge to the 109-metre drop at Purling Brook Falls, here is the definitive guide to the walks and waterfalls worth the drive, with honest notes on difficulty, parking, and when to arrive.
The temperature drops somewhere around the Nerang turnoff and the Gold Coast you know disappears in the rear-view mirror. This is how to spend a proper 48 hours in the hinterland: a rainforest lodge, Springbrook's waterfalls, glow-worms at dusk, good food on both sides of the mountain, and a Sunday drive home you will not regret.
Was just made it before sun goes down. Was very nice no people just 4 of us. Then go grow warm after this. Nice drive too 🥳
Breathtaking views. Visiting the base of the falls is highly recommended.
Natural Bridge
A basalt cave where a waterfall drops through a hole in the roof and glow-worms light the ceiling after dark. The 1km rainforest loop is easy enough for toddlers, spectacular enough to bring everyone back for the night walk.
