There's a moment on this trail where the canopy closes in completely and the temperature drops a few degrees, and then the falls appear: a cascade plunging into Morans Creek, framed by subtropical rainforest so dense it swallows the light by late afternoon. The 4.4-kilometre return walk from the trailhead takes around 90 minutes at an easy pace, and the track is well-maintained enough for runners and dawdlers alike. Do the full loop to catch both the viewing platform and the top-of-falls lookout. The drive in on Lamington National Park Road is genuinely demanding, 30-plus kilometres of single-lane switchbacks, so allow time and drive carefully. Go on a weekday if you can. Twenty people on a Monday is the kind of crowd this place deserves.
Easy and beautiful hike. You can start from the car park and finish at the car park. Its cool inside the forest. Just becareful you carry water and light if you are hiking for sunset. It gets darker quick duee to dense forest
A rollercoaster of a drive up, wouldn't take a trailer lots of one lane sharing. The falls is fantastic! Good spot for lunch and view. Easy hike, under and hour in and out.
Incredible views and the best waterfall I’ve hiked. Track is well maintained. You don’t need hiking shoes and even the unfit could do this hike, just slower. Do the full route and get a view of the falls from the lookout and also get onto the top of the fall itself .

Springbrook
You walk directly behind the waterfall, not past it. The Twin Falls Circuit winds through Gondwana Rainforest to a shallow swimming hole at the base of a small cave. Two trail options, cold water, and considerably fewer crowds on a Tuesday morning.

Miami
Dogs swim in the river, anglers work the banks, and half the Gold Coast runs their Saturday sport here. Pizzey Park is a proper community precinct: off-leash areas, barbecue spots, walking trails, and enough sporting fields to keep everyone occupied.

A beautiful and magical place. Easy hike. Lots of birds and the chance to see a rainbow in the waterfall. Highly recommended!
Amazing day trip from Gold Coast with stunning waterfalls. If driving yourself - the road in is very hazardous - single lanes on and off for over 30km - drive with extreme care, otherwise you will end up down a 100 metre+ embankment. Road in good condition in some areas and very poor in others. You can almost miss the entrance (trailhead) - about 5 carpark spots here and the sign is covered by trees in the bushes behind. Or you can walk from the nearby private property (O’Reillys) which adds about 1.8km. If going from small capark area (trailhead) it is a leisurely 4.4km trip return to Morans Falls - about 1.5 hours + anytime you’ve taken to stop and admire the scenery. Easy walk. No access to base of waterfall like Springbrook. Viewing platform provides reasonable views. Lookout at top does not allow you to see water fall, only mountain views. Very large tiger snake sunning themselves on the walking track - be very careful where you stand and highly recommend you carry a snake bite kit. Emergency help would be hours away. Definitely recommend!! Visited on a Monday and about 20 people only.
Burleigh Heads
The upstairs deck at this Burleigh surf club has one of the best beach views on the Gold Coast, and the eggs benny won't set you back. Honest food, friendly service, and none of the attitude you'd cop elsewhere on the strip.
