The dam wall at Hinze is a flat, fully paved kilometre-long crossing with Advancetown Lake stretching out on one side and the green Nerang River valley dropping away on the other. Originally built in 1976 and significantly raised in 2011, this is the Gold Coast's main drinking water supply, but most people come for the walk, the mountain bikes, or a coffee at View Cafe before heading up into Springbrook. The Peter Hallinan Mountain Bike Precinct draws everyone from beginners to serious trail riders. Prams, wheelchairs, and joggers all share the dam wall path without issue. One honest note: the wall is fully exposed, and Queensland summer sun turns it brutal by mid-morning. Come early, bring water, and wear a hat. Public transport doesn't reach here, so you'll need a car or a short Uber from Nerang.
Beautiful dam. Managed to see it with water flowing through the spillway. Seems like the visitor centre got replaced by a cafe. Visited on a Sunday evening, and there were quite a number of people there, but could still get parking after a couple of minutes.
What a lovely spot to go to. You can walk along the wall of the dam. It is wheelchair friendly paths, but I'm not sure if the tracks are. There are some wildlife around as well near the cafe or in the cafe. Highly recommend going to have a look.
Beautiful location and an easy walk. There were people of all ages including kids with bikes. Very calm and well maintained. I even saw some wildlife.

Miami
A rocky headland between two beaches with unobstructed views north to the Gold Coast skyline and south along the sand. The walk up is short and steep. Sunset is the reason to come. The beach at the base is reason enough to stay.

Natural Bridge
A basalt cave where a waterfall drops through a hole in the roof and glow-worms light the ceiling after dark. The 1km rainforest loop is easy enough for toddlers, spectacular enough to bring everyone back for the night walk.

For mountain biking it's excellent but I thought there would be more trail walks. They have "apparently" a family loop walk for pedestrians but on one side the sign says it's in one area and the other side's sign said a different side so we couldn't find it. So just walking along the dam wall was not a vibe. I guess the cafe is good if you go for that
What a amazing place, the dam is the next largest after the Wivenhow in Queensland. Humongous view from the top and the highlight from is walking trail on the dam that has stunning views all the way. Do not miss the cafe.

Dogs swim in the river, anglers work the banks, and half the Gold Coast runs their Saturday sport here. Pizzey Park is a proper community precinct: off-leash areas, barbecue spots, walking trails, and enough sporting fields to keep everyone occupied.
