Hold your hat. Literally. The wind at North Burleigh Lookout catches most people off guard, which is half the charm. This rocky headland on the southern edge of Miami sits between two beaches and delivers one of the Gold Coast's better unobstructed views: north toward the city skyline, south along the curve of sand toward Coolangatta. The walk up from the northern side involves a few steep steps, but it takes less than ten minutes and the payoff is a full coastal panorama. Sunset is the move here, when the skyline catches the light and the beach below empties out. Bring a camera with some zoom if you want the city in frame. The rocks and beach at the base are worth lingering on too, quieter than the main strip and good for an hour of doing nothing in particular.

My heart was pounding as I went up the lookout, because of the stairs (not that much) and mainly the view. Absolutely stunning. A bit cyberpunk vibe when it’s sunset. It was public holiday, spent some time looking for a parking lot. There was a spot where it goes steeply uphill then S-shape downhill. Narrow and cars parking both ways. At the end was roadwork (Dead End), have to make a u-turn. Going back encountered in-coming cars on the slope, so have to reverse. Not new drivers friendly. (I’m a new driver) Just find a parking lot somewhere else guys.
I took my American partners to this location we relaxed on the beach all day. If your looking for waves that leave a lasting experience and an incredible view of our beaches along the coast this spot is Perfect ❤️ NB: look out is hilly.
The lookout at this beach is absolutely stunning, especially during sunset. You can capture both the city skyline and the nearby beach in one view. However, since the buildings are a bit far away, it’s best to bring a camera with a longer zoom lens, or adjust your phone zoom to around 5–10x for the best shots.

South Murwillumbah
The recreation of Margaret Olley's Paddington studio alone justifies the drive to South Murwillumbah. Add rotating exhibitions, Tweed Valley views, and a free guided tour from volunteers who genuinely know the collection, and this is one of the region's most rewarding afternoons.

Burleigh Heads
Named after the naturalist who first bred platypus in captivity, this compact Burleigh Heads wildlife park punches above its size. Naturalistic habitats, knowledgeable staff who actually stop to talk, and a bird show worth timing your visit around.

Was a nice little walk up here, a few steep steps from the northern side, but well worth the view. It was good taking a moment staring out into the unknowns of the ocean. There was another lookout looking south that we didn't get to. Would highly recommend.
Beautiful spot to look up and down the Gold Coast. The beach and rocks below are also great to chill out at
