Golf course views, a morning jacuzzi, and a breakfast buffet that reviewers consistently praise for its range, from hot dishes to in-house pressed juices. The Mercure Gold Coast Resort sits well away from the commercial strip in Carrara, which gives it a quieter, more self-contained feel than its coastal competitors. Rooms are comfortable and spacious, staff are regularly singled out by name for their warmth, and the pool area works well when it's open. The caveats are real: bathrooms feel dated, the dining beyond breakfast is overpriced for what arrives on the plate, and pool maintenance scheduling has frustrated guests during peak summer heat. Book for the grounds, the breakfast, and the golf course outlook. Eat dinner somewhere else.

We enjoyed parts of our stay. The main pool and spa were lovely when open, breakfast was okay, and the beds were very comfortable. However, we were disappointed overall. The bathrooms and the general look of the rooms are very dated and in need of refurbishment. Room servicing was inconsistent with restocking and cleaning, sheets weren’t changed regularly, and there was no proper room service available during our stay. We ordered dinner one night and received what was clearly a frozen pizza reheated and charged $25 for it, which was not worth the cost. Dining at the resort felt overpriced for very basic food. The biggest issue was the closure of the main pool for maintenance during hot weather. It appeared to be cosmetic work that could have been scheduled in winter. Considering the main feature of the resort was unavailable, we felt some form of compensation should have been offered rather than having to pay for a room upgrade ourselves. The alternative pool area also did not offer drink service, which added to the inconvenience. For the price we paid, we expected a much higher standard and a far better overall experience.
Stayed here with my significant other for a one night getaway and it was a lovely experience. The location is far from commercial establishments and busy roads so privacy and ambiance was great. The staff were all warm, friendly and incredibly helpful. The room was spacious, had all the amenities we needed and came with a great view, although not having an elevator to carry our heavy bags was a bit of a challenge but not a major hassle. Took a dip in the pool early in the morning and ended it in the jacuzzi which was my favourite part of the experience. Then we had a fantastic meal with their gigantic breakfast buffet which was complete from hot to cold meals and even in-house made juices. Overall we had a pleasant experience and would recommend it as a nice weekend getaway for couples.

Beechmont QLD
Seventy-five hinterland acres, a chef-hatted restaurant called The Paddock, and a picnic under an old fig tree with Moët. Wallabies outside the cabin window are a genuine possibility. The staff, particularly Natalie at the front desk, are why guests keep coming back.

Robina
Apartment-style rooms with full kitchens and in-unit laundry, directly across from Robina train station. The staff here get named in reviews, which is rarer than it should be. Solid choice for work trips, family visits, or anyone who needs more than just a bed.

Lovely property with a very pleasant restaurant, and the pool service was excellent. Most of all, the service at reception truly stood out. Even though the lobby is currently under renovation and not looking its best, I still felt incredibly welcomed by the staff. One team member in particular, Gabriel, deserves special mention such a lovely young man with a fantastic attitude. Him and his colleagues handled a long line of guests quickly and efficiently. The little birthday treat waiting for us in the room was very special as well, so thank you for that thoughtful touch. We’ll definitely be back and can’t wait to see how the lobby looks once the renovations are complete!
Good room, plush beds. Book early and get nice discounts. Nice access to pool and golf club, and these outdoor facilities are well maintained. Breakfast and meals are so-so, but it is as expected. However, staff knowledge and cleanliness can improve. Dining and reception systems are not directly connected, whicu caused confusion when there are alterations in billing. Rooms need to be fully cleaned (that is vacuumed) when being cleaned. Plus, we put on the "Clean for Green" tag in front of our rooms (this provides an incentive for $10/day credit-back on food and beverages during our stay) - however, the cleaning team seems to have not cleaned our rooms at all, plus the credit was not added to our rooms automatically. We needed to contact the reception about this, which they happily added the correct numbers to our credits - albeit our rooms were not 'green cleaned' at all. This makes our experience slightly annoying. However, we could say that it is still overall a good resort. With tiny details to be improved.
The entire service from the overall staff is excellent! Especially male housekeeping ! The TV was quickly repaired, and luggage was handled very efficiently. The only drawback was that room housekeeping wasn't done well, and dishes washing seems to be improve. Birds frequently came in to restaurant to share meals with guests, which I found very unacceptable. Proper planning of doors and windows is necessary.
