Walk out the gate and you're on the sand. That's the whole pitch at Golden Riviera, and for a lot of people, it's enough. The beachfront apartments, spread across one, two, and three-bedroom configurations, come with full kitchens, balconies, and the kind of space that makes a week's stay genuinely comfortable rather than merely tolerable. Tugun's quieter stretch of Gold Coast beach sits right outside, and the airport proximity that might give you pause is, according to most guests, more novelty than nuisance. Donna and her team get consistent praise for going beyond the standard reception-desk interaction. Cleanliness reviews are mostly strong, though one recent stay flagged issues worth noting. Book direct for the best rate, park underground, and don't bother moving the car until checkout.
We loved everything about the Golden Riviera! Started with a friendly efficient check in and ended with a the lovely checkout. The 2 bedroom apartment was roomy and clean with everything we needed. Access to the beach is amazing just step out of the gate and you're there. It's position is 6 star!! From the adjacent tavern to the Tugun Surf Club and walking distance to many great restaurants it's so easy to eat what you feel like. Hardly heard the planes flying over and it was a novelty to watch them from the beach coming in to land.
Nice time spent with family in late January for one week. Nice and clean swimming pool, very spacious apartment, very good service at reception and place maintenance. Very close to the beach. The airport is very close, and there is no issue with planes flying and noise. Very good for a low price, definitely will be back.
"The Golden Riviera Beach Resort is a 10/10 for location if your goal is to wake up and walk straight onto the sand. It’s the ultimate spot for a 'park the car and forget about it' holiday. While it maintains a casual, laid-back resort feel, the direct beach access makes it feel like a luxury retreat for those who value the ocean above all else."

Coolangatta
A council-run park with paperbark-shaded sites, reliably clean facilities, and staff who know your dog's name by day two. Food vans on-site most nights keep dinner easy. The beach is further than the name suggests, but for a longer Gold Coast stay with a caravan or cabin, it holds up.

Bilinga
A ten-minute walk from Gold Coast Airport, this budget YHA in Bilinga is built around one purpose: the early flight. Staff are genuinely helpful, the communal kitchen is spacious, and the private rooms cover the basics. Manage expectations on the facilities and it does the job.

We stayed here during a work trip this week and were quite disappointed with the overall cleanliness of the room. The floors were sticky and left our socks black. The cutlery and cups were unwashed, with visible food residue. The shower and bath contained black hair and dirt, and the curtains in the second bedroom were broken, allowing light in early each morning. Additionally, the outdoor furniture was mouldy and unclean.
Excellent location to enjoy all the best that a Tugun Beach stay has to offer. Donna and her team go above and beyond to ensure you have a great stay. The grounds are luscious, well kept and offer a relaxing holiday vibe. The apartments are spacious, clean and provide everything you need for your stay. You can walk to the shops and restaurants of Tugun and the coastal pathway, which is right at your front door , provides an easy walk to the local surfclubs. Golden Riviera is a beach front property with access to the beach via a gate for guests. If you you prefer, you can also enjoy a swim or sunbake in the inviting pool space. Parking is provided in an underground car park in designated parks with access to stairwells that lead to your apartments. Great value money, excellent customer service and a all round great place to stay

Seventy-five hinterland acres, a chef-hatted restaurant called The Paddock, and a picnic under an old fig tree with Moët. Wallabies outside the cabin window are a genuine possibility. The staff, particularly Natalie at the front desk, are why guests keep coming back.
