The waterslides alone will sort your school holiday plans. BIG4 Tweed Billabong sits between the Gold Coast and Kingscliff, and it leans hard into the family holiday brief: a full waterpark, a tidal billabong with kayak hire, go-karts, daily kids activities, and food trucks rolling in each afternoon so you never have to think about dinner. The Gumnut Villas fit two families comfortably, and the Duranbah cabins run to three bedrooms with proper beds. The camp kitchen and lounge punch above the standard caravan park offering, with an upmarket feel and live music on the deck some evenings. Reviewers consistently flag the staff as the standout. One honest note: the Billabong Café closes at noon, and if peak-season toilet block cleanliness matters to you, cabin accommodation is the safer call.
We had an absolutely faultless stay! Firstly, every staff member we encountered were so friendly and we were constantly greeted with a smile and nothing was ever too much trouble. Our cabin was spotless on arrival and in a fantastic spot right on the billabong, great size for 2 adults and 2 kids. Beds were super comfy. I found the activities such good value, $10 an hour for kyacks, go carts etc. We used these facilities so much. Our children (2 and 4) loved both pools and waterpark. It’s great that one pool is heated. Felt very safe and secure with the gated entry. The little coffee shop on site was great and the staff there were also super friendly. All in all, we can’t fault it and we can’t wait to come back on our next trip!
One of the nicest caravan parks we’ve been to, with plenty of greenery and beautifully manicured sites. The views of the lake were amazing. The pools were beautiful and clean, and the large water park was a big hit. The camp kitchen and camp lounge had an upmarket, restaurant-style vibe. We absolutely loved the treehouse — at night it was all lit up and looked stunning. The food trucks in the afternoons were fantastic, with amazing food and very friendly owners. It was always a pleasure visiting them and a great bonus when we just wanted to relax instead of cooking. On the downside, the toilets were not kept very clean during the last few days of our stay and appeared to be cleaned only once in the morning, which wasn’t enough for a fully booked caravan park. Another negative was the café inside the park next to the camp kitchen (Billabong Café). It was only open from 7am to 12pm, and unfortunately one staff member lacked basic customer service skills. A friendly smile and kind interaction in the morning can really make a difference, and this was disappointing. Overall we had a great holiday and we'd definitely come back

Palm Beach
Where Tallebudgera Creek meets Palm Beach, with waterfront cabins, a creek beach calm enough for kids, and a surf beach in the other direction. Food trucks, an adults-only pool, and staff who remember your name after a few visits. The kind of place families rebook before they've even packed up.

Burleigh Heads
Design-forward and directly opposite Burleigh Beach, Mondrian delivers on room quality: curved interiors, hidden TVs, ambient lighting. The restaurants are solid, the location is hard to beat. Factor in parking costs and manage your pool expectations.

We stayed three nights at BIG4 Tweed Heads and loved every minute of it. The cabin was spotless, comfortable and well equipped, with everything we needed for a relaxing family stay. It felt private and peaceful while still being close to all the action. The facilities are outstanding. The pool area is fantastic and the waterslides were a huge highlight. Our toddler had the best time going between the slides, splash areas and the cubby house, which is such a thoughtful addition for little ones. There is plenty to keep kids entertained while still allowing parents to unwind. The entire park is clean, well maintained and clearly designed with families in mind. The location is perfect, positioned between the Gold Coast and Kingscliff so you truly get the best of both worlds. Beaches, cafes and shops are all within easy reach, yet it still feels like a proper holiday escape. It is the ideal mix of comfort, fun and convenience. We will absolutely be back.
Stayed for 4 nights. Had a few rare issues, but staff were incredibly accomodating and would daily check in with us. Probably the friendliest staff in Australia. Brynie (sorry if I spelt that wrong), the park manager, an absolute legend! Facilities are fantastic. The waterpark and the karts an absolute hit with the kids. Thanks again!
The location isn't the best, let's get that out of the way first. But the rest of the whole experience was spectacular. Great sites Wonderful little lake The best clean and modern facilities Cool they do food trucks (nachos were average though) The friendliest staff Kids and adults loved the water slides There is a reason why all the reviews are so positive, even though its location isn't perfect.
Miami
The pool slide earns its own mention in almost every family review. Villas have private BBQs, the Miami Marketta is a seven-minute walk, and buses to Surfers Paradise leave from the doorstep. A practical, affordable base for families who want to be in the middle of everything.
