Wallabies and a dingo outside your cabin window before breakfast at a chef-hatted restaurant. That's the Beechmont Estate pitch, and it lands. Set on 75 acres in the Scenic Rim hinterland, this former Hazelwood Estate combines a luxury lodge, day spa, and The Paddock restaurant in a way that feels genuinely considered rather than assembled. Reviewers consistently single out the arrival ritual (fresh juice, warm cookies) and the picnic under the old fig tree with Moët as the moments that stick. Staff, particularly Natalie and Zoe, come up repeatedly as the reason people return. The hatted food is the real anchor; multiple guests describe dinners as among the best they've had. Worth the drive from the Gold Coast for a long weekend, and worth booking well ahead if you're considering it for a wedding.

We have been visiting Beechmont Estate for 6 years and they never fail to deliver on a special getaway experience. The staff are exceptional in all aspects, especially Natalie. The restaurant is amazing and a good reason to keep on coming back. The cabins are cosy and all you need for a few nights amongst the hinterland wildlife. Well done to a lovely team. We will return again for sure.
From the moment we arrived, the customer service at Beechmont Estate was absolutely amazing. We were greeted with fresh juice and warm, freshly baked cookies, which immediately made us feel welcome and set the tone for our stay. Natalie and Yolanda were the perfect hosts — warm, attentive, and genuinely lovely. One of the standout moments was our picnic under the old fig tree, set in such a beautiful location . The picnic was divine, with a delicious spread of finger foods and Moët, making it feel incredibly special. Later in the afternoon, we sat outside sipping cocktails, soaking in the peaceful surroundings and stunning views — it was pure relaxation. We then spent time in the clubhouse, enjoying the outlook over the polo grounds while playing pool, before heading to dinner at the chef’s hatted restaurant. The food was outstanding — every one of us loved it. To top it all off, I was surprised with a beautiful plate of handmade chocolates to celebrate my birthday, which made the experience even more special and memorable. The grounds were incredibly lush and immaculately kept, and honestly, everything about our stay was perfect. It felt like a true escape — heaven on earth. We would highly recommend Beechmont Estate to anyone celebrating a special occasion or simply wanting a peaceful, luxurious getaway. We can’t wait to come back.

Seventy minutes from Brisbane and several degrees cooler, Binna Burra Lodge sits above World Heritage rainforest in the Gold Coast Hinterland. The Sky Lodge balcony views stop people mid-sentence. The cafe beef burger is reason enough to ride out on a Thursday.

Carrara
A self-contained resort in Carrara with golf course views, a genuinely impressive breakfast buffet, and staff who earn their mentions by name. The pool and jacuzzi are the draw. Skip the dinner menu and eat off-site.

Twenty minutes inland from the Gold Coast, the ambient noise drops away and the mornings smell like damp soil and eucalyptus. The hinterland is one of the better places in southeast Queensland to actually practice yoga, not just attend it. Here is where to go, what to book in advance, and how to build a wellness day that holds together.
The air changes about twenty minutes past the Pacific Motorway. The Gold Coast Hinterland has become Queensland's most compelling wellness destination, from a salt cave in Mermaid Waters to an infinity pool above the rainforest at Neranwood. Here is where to go, what to book, and what actually delivers.
The alarm goes off and instead of traffic, you hear wallabies. That is the farm stay deal in the Gold Coast Hinterland. From a chef-hatted restaurant on seventy-five rural acres to a rainforest lodge above World Heritage wilderness, here are the properties worth leaving the coast for.
Three days in the Gold Coast Hinterland, done properly. This itinerary runs from Currumbin Valley rock pools to Springbrook rainforest to Beechmont estate dinners, with every stop worth the detour. Autumn is the best time to do it. Here is the day-by-day plan, including where to stay, what to book in advance, and which road to take home.
Breathtaking experience! Beautiful property, 5 star services, incredible restaurant, food & bar. Great service from the reception, she was fabulous and very accommodating. We stayed in Cabin 14 and we were a last minute booking and we were blown away by how nice this place was! We will be back indeed. Very beautiful spot for a wedding.
We went for lunch as part of the Scenic Rim Eat Local Month. The day was beautiful as was the food and service. A little disappointed that there wasn’t a choice of protein and the vegetables and dessert served in cardboard containers. The beef was beautifully cooked and the Camembert with herb butter was a definite highlight. We will be back to experience the accommodation and food as the setting is beautiful and would be perfect for a wedding.
Beechmont Estate = Absolute Dream Wedding Venue! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 We honestly could not recommend this venue and our wedding coordinator highly enough. From start to finish, everything was absolutely flawless.! The attention to detail was next level, nothing was overlooked, and every element on the day felt considered and intentional. The venue itself was stunning and immaculately maintained, and the care taken with the upkeep of the property really shows. It was the perfect backdrop for our wedding. We had so many guests stop us throughout the day (and since!) to comment on how beautiful the venue was, and how incredible and attentive all the staff were. A very special and heartfelt thank you to our wedding coordinator, Zoe. She was absolutely fantastic throughout the entire planning process - always patient, responsive, and so thorough with every question we had leading up to the day. Every aspect was covered, which gave us so much confidence and peace of mind. The level of service Zoe provided was truly second to none, and we felt so cared for and supported every step of the way. A special mention must also go to Natalie on Reception, who was nothing short of amazing. She was so kind, thoughtful, and genuinely helpful. Her care & warmth made every interaction a real pleasure. On the day itself, a huge shoutout to Yolanda, who was truly the brides right hand lady. She seemed to anticipate everything before I even realised I needed it - including appearing with a glass of water at exactly the right moment. Her calm, caring presence made such a difference for me on the day. All of the staff onsite were absolutely lovely. Everyone had been thoroughly briefed on our daughter’s allergy prior to our arrival, and her meals were already organised directly with the chef, which gave us great peace of mind. The level of care and consideration shown was incredible - nothing was too much to ask of the wonderful humans at Beechmont Estate. We were able to fully relax and enjoy every moment knowing everything was in such capable hands. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we wouldn’t change a thing. If you’re considering this venue, do not hesitate - it was truly a 10/10 experience and the very best decision we made for our wedding day.. besides each other of course! We will definitely be back to visit for our 1st Wedding Anniversary!!” Thank you Beechmont Estate 💝

These are the hinterland stays that take that seriously, from Binna Burra Lodge above World Heritage forest to a working spiritual community where the food comes from the land you sleep on.
