The Splash Zone water park is the real draw here, and on a hot Gold Coast afternoon, you'll understand why families keep coming back. Turtle Beach Resort sits on the Gold Coast Highway at Mermaid Beach, a two-minute walk from Woolworths and a short stroll to the sand, with Surfers Paradise and Nobby Beach both within easy reach. The one, two, and three-bedroom apartments are self-contained with full kitchens and in-unit laundry, which makes a week-long family stay genuinely practical. The Deck bistro handles breakfast through dinner, and the pizzas get a consistent mention. Facilities run deep: multiple pools, an adults-only pool, kids club, putt-putt, tennis, and a cinema. Apartment quality varies noticeably across the property, so request a recently refreshed unit when booking, and check lift access if stairs are a concern.

We had a lovely 9-night vacation at Turtle Beach Resort, staying as a family of five in a 2 Bedroom Superior Apartment. The unit was spacious, comfortable, and fully self-contained, which made our stay very easy and relaxing. Having a full kitchen and laundry with both a washer and dryer was fantastic. There were a few minor imperfections - the couch wasn’t always the most comfortable, the fridge was missing the door shelves, and the fold-out bed likely wouldn’t be ideal for sleeping. However, our youngest slept in bed with us, so this wasn’t an issue. The queen and single beds and pillows were very comfortable. Overall, the apartment was perfect for our stay. We especially loved having an allocated underground parking space conveniently located close to our room. We were also pleasantly surprised to find laundry detergent and kitchen supplies (sponge, garbage bags, etc.) provided on arrival, and all supplies -including ample toilet paper - were restocked after about four days. Although we didn’t use all of the amenities, they were fantastic and plentiful: multiple pools, a splash pad, gym, cinema, games room, Turtle Club, tennis court, and mini golf. We feel a refundable deposit for mini golf rather than a payment would be more enticing for families. The restaurant and bar were great, and the pizzas were yum. The staff across the board were lovely and very helpful. The location is excellent - about 30 minutes from the theme parks, close to SkyPoint and Surfers Paradise, a short drive to Pacific Fair, a block to the beach, and Woolworths, a butcher, and liquor store right next door. Overall it was a wonderful stay and we would definitely return!

We stayed at Turtle Beach Resort as a family with young children and overall the experience was not what we expected from a family-focused resort. Our biggest concern was safety in the apartment. The front door could not be properly locked from the inside and only had a swing bar latch. With young kids this is not secure at all and it would be very easy for a child to open the door and leave the room without an adult noticing. The apartment itself also didn’t feel very clean and the beds and couch were extremely uncomfortable. By the end of our stay my partner and I were sleeping on a small fold-out bed because the main beds were so uncomfortable. Another issue we had was access to the room. There is no lift access to the upper levels, which meant carrying luggage and everything for our kids up multiple flights of stairs. This was difficult and something we were not made aware of before arriving. We also had issues with our bond being held after checkout with very little communication about when it would be returned, which added to the frustration after an already disappointing stay. Overall the resort advertises itself as family friendly, but based on our experience with the apartment condition, safety concerns, and customer service, it wasn’t somewhere we would choose to stay again

Stayed for a week, and didn't want to go home! The staff were friendly, approachable and amazing people. We went through Air BnB and were less pleased with the equipment that wasn't supplied that should be stock, but the resort itself was fun, and great for the kids to stay busy and entertained. The Splash Zone area was a huge star! Centrally located so easy to go down to Currumbin or north to Surfers Paradise, with Pacific fair just a short car ride. Once the light rail is completed, the travel will be even easier.

We recently stayed at Turtle Beach Resort and all in all, it was absolutely amazing. You genuinely don’t need to leave the resort – between the multiple pools, splash zone with lifeguards, tennis and basketball courts, kids club, and The Deck serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and beverages (including alcohol), it’s the perfect family-friendly holiday. There are so many kids’ amenities throughout the resort, including a putt-putt course, which was such a fun addition. The whole place is designed with families in mind, and it really shows. The location is also fantastic. It’s only a 10-minute walk to Nobby Beach if you feel like eating out, and just a 2-minute walk to Woolworths for snacks and drinks for the room – super convenient. We stayed in Room 132 as part of the Accor Vacation Club. The apartment presented beautifully and was incredibly spacious – two large bedrooms, two bathrooms and toilets, a hidden laundry with washer and dryer, a spacious kitchen, dining and living area, plus two balconies. It had everything we needed. The only thing that would have made it absolute perfection would be a second air conditioner in the master suite, but overall it was a fantastic stay. The adults enjoyed themselves just as much as the kids did, and we will definitely be returning.

Just stayed here for 4 days with family, and it's honestly not somewhere I would recommend staying. While the location is centrally located, the room itself felt really dingy and smelt damp and mouldy when the aircon was off. It set off my allergies and you could tell the curtains and carpets were in need of a refresh as they felt dusty and dank. One of the toilets needed a clean as well and there were old stains on the wall/furniture and bathroom that seemed to have been there a while. The rooms and resort itself felt really dated and in need of a renovation, as there was mould all over the kid's splash zone which is plastered all over the advertising. It was slippery in some places which was hazardous in itself. Our aircon started leaking water and condensation all over the TV unit which is located just under the aircon. It was rectified quickly by calling reception, but still put a bit of dampener on our stay. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment during summer, and I felt too hot in the main bedroom which only had a (very noisy) fan and the aircon didn't reach the bedrooms. The final dampener to our stay was when we asked for new towels for the pool, and we were quoted $5 per replacement towel (which is ridiculous, I've stayed at hotels all over the world and have never ran into such a rip off policy) and $3.50 per 2 rolls of toilet paper. This penalises guests who choose to stay at this hotel for longer as there is only housekeeping once every 9 days. If this policy was made clear upfront, we would'nt have been caught off guard. The extra star that I've given is for the friendly staff at the kid's club - there are kid's craft activities all day that our kids enjoyed.
