Flashpackers Noosa
Sunshine Beach · Accommodation
(498 reviews)
Spider the dog greets you at the door, and that tells you everything about the vibe at Flashpackers. Tucked between Sunshine Beach and Noosa Junction, this small hostel punches well above its category: free continental breakfast, daily evening events (BBQ nights, nachos and sangria, movie nights), a free shuttle to the beach and bus station, and staff who clearly care whether you're having a good time. Dorms run from four to ten beds, all with AC and enough ventilation that you won't feel stacked. Private rooms are basic but quiet, even when the downstairs common areas are buzzing. The one honest caveat: a small number of reviewers have flagged musty smells in certain rooms, so it's worth requesting a freshly turned one at check-in. Book ahead for peak season; long-term rates dry up in summer.

What People Say
Such a lovely hostel. They put so much effort into social events such as bbq night and nachos and sangria, movie nights and also providing a shuttle bus into town. The rooms are clean, beds are comfy with curtains and a pool and outside area. Can’t forget spider the dog. Recommend as a solo traveler :)
Stopping off at Noosa? Come to Flashpackers! I stayed at Flashpackers for 4 weeks throughout December 2025, and based on my experience of staying in various hostels in Australia and other parts of the world - this is by far the best one I’ve been to, and totally recommend if you’re going to Noosa! Flashy’s has a relaxed atmosphere and a homely vibe to it which is quite comforting for backpackers who start to miss home while travelling! Though a small hostel, there are many indoor + outdoor common areas, where I found it easy to connect with other travellers. I stayed in multiple rooms, including the 4, 6 and 10 bed dorms, which were all clean and comfortable with enough ventilation and daylight (you don’t feel like you’re packed like sardines!) The hostel is conveniently located between Sunshine Beach and Noosa Junction, within a ~15 minute walking distance of the two. They also have a free shuttle bus that goes to Noosa Junction station and Main beach 6 and 4 times a day respectively - very helpful if you’re taking the greyhound The daily evening events were easily the highlight of my stay - though I was here for a while, I never got bored of them and would always look forward to attending and meeting new people! The only disadvantage is they don’t offer long-term rates during peak season, but nevertheless a great starting point you’re moving to the Noosa area. Staff are super helpful, but can be way too cliquey. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and sure you will too. Everyone I’ve spoken to there says that Flashy’s is a great one to go to :)
We stayed for a long weekend (3 x nights) in February and had an enjoyable stay. Particular highlights include free events/food they would put on in the evening which was a great ice breaker to meet new people. Breakfast in the morning was also a plus. We are a couple so we stayed in a private room and found it still very quiet to sleep at night despite it being busy in the downstairs community areas. The room was basic but had everything you needed. We have given this 5 stars as it is clear the staff go above and beyond to keep everything in order and make sure everyone is having a good time. Thank you Flashpackers!
Stay here. They have the absolute best staff around. Rooms have AC, free continental breakfast, great daily events, ample-sized kitchen, free shuttle from bus station & to beach a few times a day, even an on-site pup! This maybe one of the best hostels I stayed in. Everything felt so comfortable and easy. I was sad to leave.
Really friendly staff at the hostel. However I didn’t feel the vibe at all as a solo traveller at all and I think it was intensified because the room I stayed in smelled very bad. It was a moldy/ stinky smell that didn’t go away and I felt also hung in other rooms. Also the beds are not private at all because it makes a lot of noise when someone climbs in and moves a lot. It was nice though that there were 2 pillows per bed. I enjoyed my stayed after this way more (Halse Lodge). You pay the same price for a better location and newer facilities and better beds.
