The Kiva Spa
Mullumbimby · Wellness & Spa
(1,603 reviews)
Tucked into McGougans Lane in Mullumbimby, The Kiva Spa sits a world away from the Byron Bay day spa circuit. The setting is the point here: Mullumbimby's quieter pace suits the kind of treatment you actually need time to absorb. As a day spa, expect massage, bodywork, and skin treatments delivered without the festival-crowd energy of the coast. No reviews to draw from yet, so it's hard to say which therapist to ask for or which treatment to book first. What the location does suggest is that this is a place for locals and those who know to look past Jonson Street. Worth a direct call to ask what's on the table before you commit.

What People Say
If you're in the area and need a proper reset from life (or the Christmas holiday chaos), Kiva Spa is the absolute move. This oasis truly holds space for genuine tranquility and deep renewal - the ultimate good-vibe sanctuary. I highly recommend booking a massage with Nirupa. Her approach was deeply centering, making the session a truly restorative experience. She was wonderfully present and delivered a massage that was both methodical and incredibly effective. The magnesium pools, sauna, and steam room are spot-on. I visited around 11 am on a weekday and loved that there were plenty of spaces to move between. It never felt crowded or rushed. Highly recommend stopping by for some essential self-care.
Excellent experience, again. I've been to the kiva spa, many times - but this time I booked a massage after my sauna session. It was great, all the staff are lovely, smiling and approachable, and the masseuse listened to my body, it's issues and the experience left me feeling so calm and relaxed - exactly what I needed after my five nightshifts. Would highly recommend 😊
Our favorite spa in the Byron Bay region. If not NSW. My partner and I had the couples massage and our therapists were nothing but amazing. I’m currently pregnant and was cared for so thoughtfully. Every move felt intentional. Thank you Kiva
This was a birthday voucher from a friend for one hour massage and one hour spa. I did not enjoy my massage as it was way too soft, even after I mentioned to the massage therapist I would prefer it stronger. I did not feel that I had a massage as all my aches were still there. As far as Spa area, it’s beautiful and leafy. I just found that most people never cared about showering before and after which seemed unhygienic.
Kiva is set amongst a beautiful, tranquil setting within the town of Mullumbimby. I had an hour massage with Katarina, followed by 2 hours in the bathhouse. So relaxing and my skin felt so soft after the magnesium water baths. Great variety with a steam room, sauna, multiple spa baths and a plunge bath. The whole experience was worth it, feeling at peace!
