Tucked along Bayshore Drive, a quieter stretch that most visitors never find, Osprey Spa sits well outside the main drag's foot traffic and noise. That distance is the point. Day spa treatments here are designed around proper recovery time, not a rushed hour between beach and dinner. Without a deep well of reviews to draw from, it's hard to say which therapist to request or which treatment to book first, but the location alone signals intent: this is not a drop-in place. Bayshore Drive runs close to the wetlands and the industrial-light end of town, which makes it an interesting choice, quieter than the hinterland retreats but removed from the tourist centre. Worth calling ahead to discuss what you're after before you commit.
I recently had a 1-hour Aromatherapy Relaxation Massage at Osprey Spa with Nan, my masseur, and the experience was fantastic. I chose peppermint and lime oil, and the combination was incredibly soothing. The pressure Nan applied was perfect, leaving my body feeling relaxed and light. The staff were also very friendly, which made the entire experience even better. I highly recommend this spa for anyone looking for a truly relaxing experience.
I recently visited Osprey Spa at Elements of Byron for a 1-hour Signature Massage and a 1-hour Essential Facial, and I can honestly say that after many years of trying different spas, this was one of the best experiences I’ve had. My therapist, Selena, was outstanding. She was professional, attentive and created a calm, comfortable environment from start to finish. The warm towels, warm oil and subtle, refreshing aromas all added to a genuinely soothing and stress-relieving treatment. I left feeling reset and completely refreshed. I would highly recommend Osprey Spa — and especially Selena — to anyone looking for a high-quality, relaxing experience. Thank you.

Brooklet
Award-winning wellness retreat in 25 acres of hinterland rainforest. Yoga, spa, organic kitchen.

Byron Bay
Above the Byron township on Skinners Shoot Road, Azabu takes its name from a refined Tokyo neighbourhood and seems to mean it. A day spa at the quieter, more considered end of the local market, with a setting that earns its keep before the treatment even begins.

Mullumbimby
On Smith Street in Mullumbimby, this day spa works with Mukti Organics botanical skincare, bringing plant-based facials and body treatments to Byron's quieter hinterland neighbour. A considered alternative to the Byron strip, with an unhurried pace to match the town.
Forty-eight hours in Byron done properly: a kayak around the Cape, dinner above the sand at Wategos, and enough hinterland to make the drive feel worth it. This is the weekend itinerary that skips the tourist traps and books the right tables, in the right order, at the right time of year.
The summer crowds leave, the water stays warm, and in May the humpback whales arrive. Autumn is when Byron Bay operates at its actual best, and the locals have known it for years. Here is what to do, where to stay, and why March to May is the window worth booking.
I had a 10:00 a.m. appointment booked and planned my entire day around it so that I could enjoy other activities with my young family afterward. I arrived 15 minutes early, as instructed, expecting a welcoming and relaxing start — the kind of service you would normally associate with a five-star resort spa. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing from the outset. The receptionist did not offer a warm welcome and, after checking her system, informed me that there was no record of my booking. When I tried to show her my confirmation email, she responded rather dismissively, saying she needed to assist other customers first and would deal with my issue later. After helping several guests who had arrived after me, she returned and stated that the spa was fully booked, but that she could “luckily” provide the massage herself — as if doing me a favor. When I politely asked if another therapist could take the appointment instead, she refused and offered weekday slots, despite my having already mentioned that I was leaving the next morning. Overall, the service was unprofessional and disappointing. I hope the management takes steps to improve the reception experience and ensure better customer care in the future. If you still decide to visit this spa, I would recommend managing your expectations accordingly.
Had the most amazing massage and facial with Amelia. It was hands down the best I’ve ever had. Amelia was professional, knowledgeable and made the whole experience. Highly recommended
My husband and I did the couples mineral immersion bath and massage. This room can get VERY hot during summer, especially after you have had a hot bath. Even after a cold shower, we had to close off the curtain to cool the room down. Please note this particular room is right next to the main pool area so you hear guests splashing around during your whole relaxation massage.
