Set on acreage along Bangalow Road, this Talofa day spa sits well outside the Byron bustle, which is half the point. Dreaming Woods positions itself as a retreat from the retreat town, the kind of place you drive to deliberately rather than stumble into. Without a review trail to draw from, it's difficult to speak to the specifics of treatments or therapists, but the rural setting and day spa format suggest a quieter, more considered pace than the Main Beach alternatives. Worth calling ahead to ask about availability and what's currently on the treatment menu. If you're after something closer to a full-day escape than a quick facial between markets, the out-of-town location works in its favour.
What an amazing spot. Very cleverly designed and arranged "studios" (they're more like 1 bedroom apartments - and very spacious at that), with a lovely valley view and the sound of nature blending in. Nice touches on the decor and finishing. Very well thought out and out together place to stay. Highly recommended
Absolutely magical! The view is amazing, the rooms are kept very clean and tidy! The bathhouse is another experience just completely relaxing and zen!! Will definitely come back!!!
Beautiful accommodation and spa/sauna/ice bath experience in the Byron hinterland. We loved our night away from the world at Dreaming Woods. Lovely people, lovely accommodation (we stayed in the studio and it was beautiful, with a huge king bed and a separate living room and balcony, so very spacious!) The spa facilities are brand new and in pristine condition and we were warmly welcomed by the owners. A beautiful experience and I definitely recommend! 5 stars 🌟

Brooklet
Award-winning wellness retreat in 25 acres of hinterland rainforest. Yoga, spa, organic kitchen.

Byron Bay
A day spa in the quieter Banksia Drive pocket of Byron, Comma leans into its name. Away from the main strip, it suits those after bodywork and skin treatments without the foot traffic. Small, independent, and worth calling ahead to confirm the current treatment menu.

Byron Bay
A boutique skin and beauty studio on Middleton Street, away from the tourist drag. Smaller scope than the resort spas, which tends to mean more focused service. Worth a call ahead to confirm what treatments suit you best.
Byron Bay's plant-based food scene runs deeper than smoothie bowls and good intentions. From the açaí-forward breakfast crowd at Combi on Fletcher Street to the organic kitchen at Gaia Retreat in the hinterland, this guide cuts through the noise and tells you exactly where to eat, what to order, and which spots are worth the drive.
Friday arrival to Sunday checkout, with the specific bookings, timings, and places that make a romantic Byron Bay weekend feel considered rather than improvised. From a Wategos Beach dinner to a dawn balloon flight over the hinterland, this is the two-night plan worth following.
September to November is Byron Bay at its most functional: whale pods still moving through the headland, hinterland trails in their best condition after winter rain, and accommodation priced below the Christmas cliff. Here is what to do, where to stay, and why spring is the window most visitors overlook.
Byron Bay's sound healing and meditation scene predates the wellness trend cycle by decades. From residential retreats in hinterland rainforest to day spas built for stillness, here is what to book, what to expect as a first-timer, and why autumn is the best time to do any of it.
Autumn is the right season for a Byron girls' trip, and the itinerary is simpler than the group chat suggests. Book the Wategos dinner table first, sort the villa second, and let the rest follow. Here is the weekend, planned properly.
This is a little slice of peaceful paradise tucked into the Bangalow hills. This place also has a beautiful vista with ever changing sky’s to bask in while relaxing in the magnesium baths and the sauna is so stunning and also has a view!
AMAZING bath house and sauna! 5 out of 5 in every category. Beautiful tranquil location. Two big high quality magnesium spas with powerful jets. A gorgeous sauna with an epic view. A proper 'cold' ice bath. And on top of all that you get tea served. By far my favourite bath house in the Byron region now.
