Marvell Street sits just far enough from the main drag to feel like a local discovery, and Byron Medi Spa leans into that quieter register. The focus here is clinical as much as it is indulgent, bridging the gap between a beauty clinic and a traditional day spa. Treatments draw on medical-grade technology alongside more familiar relaxation offerings, which puts it in a different bracket from the purely ritual-focused spas that populate the hinterland. Pricing sits at the upper end of the Byron spectrum, so this is less a drop-in and more a considered booking. Without a deep review trail to draw from, the honest assessment is this: the Marvell Street address and the medi-spa positioning suggest a clientele that's after results, not just atmosphere. Book a consultation first to understand what's right for you.
I don’t usually like leaving negative feedback, but I feel it’s important to share my experience in the hope it may help others make informed decisions. My visit was back in 2022, so I truly hope that since then the owner has received further training and expanded her knowledge, as treatments like these can have a lasting impact on someone’s skin. At the time, I went in seeking laser treatment for my melasma, without knowing much about the condition myself (and I take responsibility for not doing enough research beforehand). I was told that the marks could be removed. While it was mentioned that results might vary if it was melasma, I wasn’t clearly informed that the treatment could potentially make it worse; which, unfortunately, it did. After the consultation, Hailey kindly pulled me aside and suggested I avoid the laser and try a cream first. I really wish I had listened to her advice instead of the owner. I ended up spending over $1,000 on treatments that aggravated my melasma, caused more pigmentation to appear, and also removed my natural freckles; something that felt very much a part of who I am. Four years later, I am still managing my melasma with Cosmelan, which is effective but also very costly. This experience has been a long journey, both emotionally and financially. My intention is not to place blame, as I don’t believe the owner acted with bad intent, but rather to highlight the importance of proper guidance and expertise when it comes to treating conditions like melasma. In my experience, the type of laser offered at the time was not suitable for this condition. On a positive note, I did have good experiences with other treatments there. Overall, I would encourage others to do thorough research and seek multiple opinions before proceeding with “medical” aesthetic treatments. It’s a lesson I’ve learned the hard way.

Byron Bay
A wellness studio tucked into the Porter Street complex, away from Byron's more tourist-oriented day spas. Local-facing and low-key, it's the kind of place that runs on regulars rather than foot traffic. Worth a call if you want something quieter than the main strip.

Byron Bay has more wellness listings than most towns have cafes. The hard part is finding the right one before your weekend is half over. With booking lead times, price reality, and honest calls on what to skip.

December arrives in Byron and the town doubles in population overnight. Hot, humid, and relentlessly social, summer here is the peak of everything: the best beach days, the fullest restaurants, the most electric evenings. It also requires planning. Here is what to expect and exactly where to be.
You've done the lighthouse walk and queued for coffee on Jonson Street. Here's what comes next. From a back-lane lunch spot that locals actually eat at, to dawn kayaking off Clarkes Beach, to a hinterland wellness retreat that has nothing to do with the beach town down the road. Byron rewards the curious, but only if you know where to look.

I had such a wonderful experience at this medi spa on Friday. The service was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. Char, the owner, is incredibly warm, caring and genuinely invested in her clients. She took the time to give me thoughtful, personalised advice about my skin and made me feel completely comfortable and looked after. I left feeling confident and well informed. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for professional, knowledgeable and caring service.
