On Jonson Street, where the foot traffic runs from sunrise coffee to post-beach stretches, Byron Gym sits as the town's straightforward answer to staying fit without the resort price tag. No frills positioning, no Instagram-first fit-out — just a functional space for locals who want to train consistently rather than occasionally. With no reviews currently on record, it's hard to speak to the equipment quality or class schedule from experience, but its central location makes it the most accessible option for visitors staying in town and regulars who walk from the Arts Factory precinct. Worth a direct inquiry about casual passes and weekly rates before committing.
Absolutely love Byron Gym! The vibe is welcoming, the equipment is great, and the place is always clean and well looked after. Nat, the manager, is genuinely amazing — super friendly, professional, and always goes out of their way to make everyone feel supported and motivated. You can really tell they care about the community here. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great gym with an even better atmosphere.

Brooklet
Award-winning wellness retreat in 25 acres of hinterland rainforest. Yoga, spa, organic kitchen.

Byron Bay
Full-spectrum infrared sessions in a quiet Tasman Way studio, away from the Byron strip. Lower temperatures than a traditional sauna mean longer, more tolerable sessions and a deeper sweat. Suits the post-surf crowd and the wellness regulars equally.

Byron Bay
Hinterland-adjacent and serious about it. Byron Yoga Centre runs residential retreats and daily classes from its Skinners Shoot Road base, sitting comfortably between casual drop-in studio and full immersion retreat. Mid-range pricing for Byron, with on-site accommodation available.
Byron Bay has more wellness listings than most towns have cafes. The hard part is finding the right one before your weekend is half over. This guide cuts through the field to find the best day spas and massage options in Byron, from hinterland luxury to central studios that fit around a beach day. With booking lead times, price reality, and honest calls on what to skip.
December arrives in Byron and the town doubles in population overnight. Hot, humid, and relentlessly social, summer here is the peak of everything: the best beach days, the fullest restaurants, the most electric evenings. It also requires planning. Here is what to expect and exactly where to be.
Byron Bay has more yoga studios per capita than almost anywhere in Australia. The harder question is which one is right for you. This guide covers drop-in classes, day retreats, and multi-day residential programmes, with practical advice on styles, prices, booking windows, and what to bring. From a single morning session to a full week in the hinterland.
Byron Bay has a reputation for being expensive. Most of it is deserved. But there is a cheaper Byron running alongside the pricey one: free headland walks, honest back-street cafés, mid-week accommodation rates, and one kayak tour that earns every dollar. Here is how to do it properly without spending up.
The gym has such a great vibe. Really friendly and helpful staff. Especially my PT Susanna who is inspirational. I’ve had a few PTs and she is without a doubt the best. She has really made a difference to my fitness and strength and she makes it fun as well. Highly recommend.
Most reasonably priced gym in the shire. Friendly staff, great studio, good machines and free weights. Adding the sauna for an extra $5 a week is a must!
You've done the lighthouse walk and queued for coffee on Jonson Street. Here's what comes next. From a back-lane lunch spot that locals actually eat at, to dawn kayaking off Clarkes Beach, to a hinterland wellness retreat that has nothing to do with the beach town down the road. Byron rewards the curious, but only if you know where to look.
