Bruns Gym
Brunswick Heads · Wellness & Spa
(176 reviews)
A no-frills gym in the quieter pocket of Brunswick Heads, Bruns Gym sits on Teven Street away from the Byron circus. Without review data to draw from, what's clear is the location itself: Brunswick Heads attracts locals who've deliberately opted out of the Byron Bay scene, and a gym here serves that same crowd. Expect a functional, community-oriented setup rather than a boutique fitness studio with mood lighting and a smoothie bar. If you're staying locally or living in the Bruns area and want to keep a routine without driving south, this is the practical answer. Check their current hours and membership options directly before visiting, as details aren't widely documented online.

What People Say
Amazing gym! Really great equipment, yoga studio and new reformer Pilates studio. So many classes to choose from - yoga, Pilates, HITT as well as a pool and infrared sauna. Best value for money I’ve found in the area
Great light, bright, large and open modern gym. Wide range of brand new equipment. Sleek, modern fitout and friendly staff. Heaps of classes across two dedicated spaces. Good vibe and a wide variety of customers of all ages, genders and abilities so you can feel comfortable no matter what stage you’re at. Would be even better to be able to sit and have a coffee after a class or gym session. Highly recommended.

Really Nice gym, staff are always up for giving you good advice with whatever your fitness goals are! Great to see the new Reno also since been away for abit. Recommend.
The newly renovated Bruns gym is absolutely "top notch" with all new equipment and a whole new look. I hadn't been to Bruns gym in many, many years and as soon as I walked in I was greeted warmly by the staff and shown around the space and signed my membership on the spot (Also came back later that afternoon and signed up my teenage daughter as well ) !! Loved my first training session and honestly can't wait to get back in there asap. Great work guys and look forward to continuing my journey to self betterment with you all 🙏💪 Update- 6 months later- Still my favourite gym by far in the Byron shire. All the staff are amazing and a wealth of knowledge, so don't ever be afraid to ask them for tips and pointers. I should add that the fellow gym goers are a fantastic, supportive family as well. What are waiting for? Get in there and get amongst it, your body and mind will love you for it 😊💪
More Wellness & Spa in Byron Bay

Gaia Retreat & Spa
Brooklet
Award-winning wellness retreat in 25 acres of hinterland rainforest. Yoga, spa, organic kitchen.

Comma
Byron Bay
A day spa in the quieter Banksia Drive pocket of Byron, Comma leans into its name. Away from the main strip, it suits those after bodywork and skin treatments without the foot traffic. Small, independent, and worth calling ahead to confirm the current treatment menu.

HOV Yoga - Heart of Vinyāsa
Mullumbimby
Serious vinyāsa practice in Mullumbimby, built around a breath-led, alignment-focused lineage rather than the drop-in flow scene. The kind of studio locals drive past Byron for. Worth contacting directly to understand the class schedule and level expectations.

Little Company - Byron Bay
Byron Bay
A day spa on Brigantine Street that leans toward the therapeutic rather than the decorative. Far enough from the tourist strip to feel like a proper retreat, close enough to make it practical. Book ahead and go in with intention.
