Brunswick Heads · Restaurants & Cafes
(481 reviews)
Tweed Street in Brunswick Heads runs quietly enough that a good café still feels like a find. Old Maids sits on that stretch, the kind of neighbourhood spot that anchors a morning without demanding anything of you. No reviews to go on yet, which means the jury is still out, but the address alone tells you something: Brunswick Heads draws people who've decided Byron has gotten too loud, and the cafés here tend to follow suit. Expect the unhurried pace that defines this town, a short walk from the Brunswick River, and a crowd that actually lives here rather than passing through. Worth a visit if you're already in the Heads and want somewhere to sit with a coffee that isn't competing for your attention.

What People Say
Really cute and unassuming venue, with brilliant staff, tasty burgers and a nice vibe. We both went for the “what she said” beef. Beautiful grass fed pasture raised patty, generous fillings and yummy milk bun. We enjoyed a small side of chips which were crispy without being greasy, and washed the whole thing down with two perfectly made sticky chais. The staff were friendly and relaxed, adding to the vibe. Special credit to the Southern English lady, who was polite, chatty, and friendly, with her service. Always appreciated.
Beef burger was excellent. Chicken burger had an exorbitant amount of dill which wasn’t mentioned on the menu, but still good. Great vibe and even though no alcohol they let you order from next door
Travelling Aussies 🇦🇺 Stopped in for an early coffee & breakfast and were very impressed 👍 Service was friendly & efficient, coffee is fantastic and our Little Dutchie breakfast burger - absolutely awesome There’s indoor booth / table seating plus tables out front Access is straight from the footpath and the amenities were fresh and clean Highly recommended for fresh & delicious food and great coffee ☕️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I had brekky here on New Years Day and the vibes were great, people were really friendly. We had an absolutely delicious breakfast with reasonable coffee.
We had lunch today here. The vibe was very cool, the staff friendly and I loved the interior design of the restaurant. Coffee and sweet potato fries were a 10 out of 10 but... we didn't love the burgers 😭 They didn't live up to the expectations. The fried egg was overdone and so was the meat. It was too dry and thick for our taste.
