Right on the corner of Jonson Street, Folk sits at the entry point of Byron's main drag, which means it catches everyone and belongs to no one crowd in particular. The fit-out leans into the name: warm timbers, a relaxed pace, the kind of café that doesn't need to try hard because the bones are right. The menu reads as honest all-day café fare, priced in the middle of the Byron range, nothing that will shock the wallet. Without a deep review record to draw from, it's hard to call a signature dish, but the location alone makes it a natural stop for a morning coffee before the town fills up. Come early, find a seat, and let the foot traffic of Byron's busiest street do the entertainment.
I was hesitant this morning to order the poached eggs as the price is higher than I am used to in Canada (normal here) but I was blown away with the quality, taste and even the visual appeal of the food. Truly worth every penny and more. The staff are incredible and the atmosphere was lovely. Definitely a must stop 🤙. We actually came back for lunch as well. Great stuff gang.
Amazing spot nestled next to the caravan park entrance, rare to get a cafe this good in a holiday park like this. Great coffee and food options, friendly staff and amazing outdoor areas to chill in. Good for kids and families as well as individuals. Definitely recommend this place.
Hey Marcus Joseph Chen (20m) back again. My travels have brought me to the strange place of Byron Bay. I haven’t seen this many German tourists since… idk. Although I have only been here for 12hrs I already feel my hair becoming dreadlocks, my skin tanning and my tummy full of probiotics. Probably all the positive chakras and my third eye opening. And oh how my third eye has opened, in the image below you can see my fermented feast of pickles and kefir. I’m glad this place is consciously roasting their coffees as I have been concerned about the epidemic of unconscious roasting that has taken over this country. And so, with my belly as fermented as a sourdough starter and many more beads in my hair I will enjoy the uv 9 of Byron bay. Seems like I’ll be the only one enjoying it since I’m surrounded by these screenagers (pictured left to right: Lindsey jiang, Kate henne, Julia alley). Only uv their enjoying will be from Snapchat for iPad. Not all of us can reach enlightenment this quick, but a cruelty free latte with a house nut milk sure can help. Marcus out.

Byron Bay
Tucked into Jonson Lane, away from the main-street circus, Bang Bang keeps things casual and affordable. The kind of spot that rewards locals who know their way around the back streets of Byron.

Wategos Beach
Directly above the sand at Wategos Beach, Raes Dining Room is Byron's most location-loaded fine dining address. Mediterranean-leaning seafood, full-occasion pricing, and a room that makes the most of one of the coast's prettiest coves. Book the terrace.

Byron Bay's plant-based food scene runs deeper than smoothie bowls and good intentions. From the açaí-forward breakfast crowd at Combi on Fletcher Street to the organic kitchen at Gaia Retreat in the hinterland, this guide cuts through the noise and tells you exactly where to eat, what to order, and which spots are worth the drive.
Friday arrival to Sunday checkout, with the specific bookings, timings, and places that make a romantic Byron Bay weekend feel considered rather than improvised. From a Wategos Beach dinner to a dawn balloon flight over the hinterland, this is the two-night plan worth following.
Autumn is the right season for a Byron girls' trip, and the itinerary is simpler than the group chat suggests. Book the Wategos dinner table first, sort the villa second, and let the rest follow. Here is the weekend, planned properly.
Byron Bay is a better place with a dog in tow. Belongil Beach for off-leash mornings, the Cape Byron headland track on a lead, and a string of outdoor cafes that will not flinch at a dog under the table. Here is the practical guide to doing it properly, from where to stay to which beaches actually let you off the lead.
Byron Bay in autumn is the right time for a genuine wellness week: fewer crowds, better light, and a hinterland cool enough to make morning yoga worth getting up for. This seven-day itinerary structures the week around how the body actually resets, from ocean kayaking and hinterland spa days to a dawn balloon flight over the Tweed Valley. Real days, real recommendations, real order.
Friendly staffs, healthy food & housemade plant-based milk options! But of course if you are used to commercial plant-based milks, you will find the housemade ones very thin and watery; just keep in mind before ordering! Overall a very decent experience!:)
A Must-Visit in Byron Bay! 🌿✨ Folk in Byron Bay is an absolute gem! I ordered the vegan burrito, scrambled eggs, and a vegan blueberry loaf - and every single dish was incredibly delicious. The flavours were fresh, well-balanced, and honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. The vegan options were especially impressive! What truly makes Folk special is the atmosphere. It has such a unique, calm, and cozy vibe - the kind of place where you instantly feel relaxed and inspired. With its beautiful outdoor setting and laid-back energy, it perfectly captures the spirit of Byron Bay. Amazing food + unforgettable atmosphere = 5/5 stars without a doubt. I can’t wait to go back! 🌸
Affordable and unfussy on Jonson Street, Light Years offers a lower price point in a town that doesn't always make that easy. Walk-in friendly and casual, it's a practical choice when Byron's main drag is pulling you in every direction.
