No Bones Byron Bay
Byron Bay · Restaurants & Cafes
(1,332 reviews)
Fletcher Street has no shortage of places to drink, but No Bones pitches itself squarely at the plant-based end of Byron's bar scene. The name signals the ethos: no meat, no pretension, just a bar that takes its drinks and its values seriously in equal measure. Expect the kind of crowd that arrives on foot or bike, orders a natural wine or a well-made cocktail, and stays longer than planned. The Fletcher Street location puts it in the thick of the town's evening foot traffic, which means it fills up. Without review data to draw from, the honest call is to check their current hours and menu before heading in. Byron's bar scene moves fast, and the best version of No Bones is the one you experience yourself.

What People Say
We did the set menu and loved it! It was very filling and it enabled us to try a wide range of dishes. It was $75pp, which I think is reasonable considering the quality and portion sizes. For the starters my favourite was the calamari. For the seconds I love the tofu with the whipped peanut dressing. For the third set of dishes, the texture of the chicken was incredible, but I also loved the flavours of the mushroom dish. For dessert we had the dark chocolate creamaux, and it was super rich, creamy and decadent - delicious!
We’ve been to No Bones a few times now and honestly… we’re obsessed. They first opened in 2018 with a really beautiful philosophy: to show people just how exciting, flavourful, and satisfying plant based food can be. Their whole mission is built around sustainability, reducing environmental impact, and proving that you absolutely don’t need to be vegan to love this style of cooking. And it’s true, every dish we’ve ever tried here has been absolutely delicious. Some of my highlights are: • the Salt & Pepper “Calamari” (SO good!), • the Kung Pow Chick'n Baos and the Satay Chick'n and the truffle fries • and always the Pasta of the Day- it never disappoints. The staff have been lovely every single time we’ve visited; warm, welcoming, and always happy to chat. The food comes out at a good pace, the Margaritas are amazing, and honestly… we haven’t had a dish we didn’t like. And please, PLEASE save room for the Vegan Tiramisu. OMG. So yum! As it’s quite popular (for good reason!), I always recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. A must visit in Byron! Even if you’re not plant based, you’ll fall in love with the food here.
We had a family dinner here on our last night in Byron and overall we really enjoyed the food. Even my husband and son, who are typically devoted carnivores, were very happy with most of the dishes. Our favourites were the duck and the zucchini flowers – both were delicious. There are just a couple of areas where we feel there is room for improvement. The service, while friendly, was quite slow, and the waiting time for meals and drinks was longer than we expected. In addition, the cleanliness of the toilets was below standard and could definitely be improved. Apart from these points, we had a lovely evening and appreciated the quality of the food. With a bit more attention to service speed and bathroom cleanliness, this place could be truly excellent.
Fourth time that I go to No Bones to have diner . It’s one of my favs in Byron. The menu is amazing, not sure how they get those flavours with plant based ingredients. The pumpkin ravioli, the watermelon , the pate, the broccoli, …. Everything was tasty and so so so good. Can’t complain . Can’t wait to winter so the yellow curry is back to the menu. The only negative review is that we had diner inside and it was way to hot.
Second time we came here! The food is absolutely insane. Everything is so tasty and the service was incredible as well. I recommend to have the tasting menu so you can share and try a little bit of everything 👏🏼 I highly recommend this stop in Byron 💛
