A waterfront site here puts you close enough to watch kayakers, pelicans, and the occasional paddleboarder from your camp chair, all with Noosa Heads framing the view across the river. This is Noosaville's most centrally placed caravan park, a short walk from the restaurants along Thomas Street and the calm swimming spots along the foreshore. Reviews are consistent on two things: the location is genuinely hard to beat, and peak season brings crowds. The amenities block gets stretched when the park fills up, so aim for shoulder season if you want the river views without the festival-grounds energy. Waterfront sites slope slightly and tree roots make tent pegging a project, so a self-contained van earns its keep here. Book well ahead; spots go fast and the regulars know it.
Lovely peaceful stay here for 3 nights - I booked a waterfront site. These are small but the booking process makes it clear that you can’t fit much more than a car and a side awning. No other additions. You are obviously close to other campers. Fellow campers here are friendly and respectful. It was $60/night for unpowered, which I thought was quite pricey, but…. The views of sunrises and sun sets here are beautiful. I went back to camp early so I could enjoy the sunset from camp! There aren’t many people crowding the water front (like at waterfront campsites in other campgrounds) so it feels relatively private. Bathrooms were pretty clean. However it seems that free campers on the street outside will sneak into the bathrooms. Management has a PIN code to try and manage this. I was showering when I heard a man enter the women’s bathroom with a lady that he’d obviously snuck in with. This made me uncomfortable. The wifi really does not work. Camp kitchen has stunning views. There were 3 bbq hot plates and 3 big sinks for wash up. The microwave needs a really good clean. This spot was really well located to catch the bus to the surrounding areas. It’s only 50c and beats trying to navigate parking at Hastings St. You can also go for a short stroll and catch the ferry nearby. If you are wanting a quiet, peaceful stay - this might be the place for you.
Absolutely gorgeous waterfront sites! I had a lovely stay, clean facilities, spots spaced out nicely. Not super private at the waterfront sites with guests playing next to and in front of the sites on the sand but that is to be expected. Was a bit awkward when other guests were sitting on the embankment less than a metre from my bed in my site (see photo—these are strangers haha) when there was plenty of space on the embankment in the park that didn’t have any campsites, but it was outside the little fence so nothing I could do/not on the holiday park to tell people that’s weird 😅 Regardless, will be returning :)

Tewantin QLD
A well-kept holiday park in Tewantin with a loyal following, a Thursday pizza van at the gate, and a staff member named Rob who can reverse your caravan into a tight spot first try. Pet-friendly, pool-equipped, and genuinely close to Noosa without the Noosa prices.

Sunshine Beach
Spider the dog, free nachos and sangria nights, and a shuttle to the beach twice a day. Flashpackers runs daily social events that actually work, with clean dorms, AC, and free breakfast. The kind of hostel people extend their stay for.

Well situated but packed like impossible with cars and boats and paddles and children and music. If you like action and people watching it’s the place. If you want space, calm it’s not. The amenities were ok at best but with that much people no wonder it’s not always perfect.
Excellent camp spot overlooking the river, peaceful and with lots of activity on the water - could sit all day and never tire of it! Easy walk to Noosaville. Loved it!
Wow, this was an enjoyable stay. Close to Noosa Heads, right on the river - where we swam. Welcoming staff, lots of sites, peaceful, well kept gardens. I’d happily stay here again.
Noosa North Shore QLD
Kangaroos at dusk, a car-free beach out front, and spacious grassed sites on the Cooloola Coast. You need a 4WD and a ferry crossing to get here. That's exactly the point. Consistently praised for clean facilities and genuinely helpful staff.
