The smoker runs from lunch through dinner, and the brisket is the reason most people make the drive up Nerang Murwillumbah Road. Set in the Hinterland above the Gold Coast, The Beechmont Hotel leans hard into its country-pub identity: free live music on weekends, line dancing through the week, and a smokehouse platter big enough to need a takeaway box. The Wednesday rump special draws a midweek crowd, the renovated space handles large groups comfortably, and the vibe is genuinely relaxed. A note on logistics: smoker dishes and bistro meals come out of separate kitchens, so food arrives staggered at the table. For a group of two or four, no issue. For a party of forty, plan accordingly and get the function details confirmed in writing.
We've visited this place twice now. One was last year's summer for a friend's birthday and this month for another friend's birthday. We love the location of this place coz it's a nice drive from where we live. The food here is good. Big servings and delicious food. They also serve cocktails 🍸 I find it too strong for me but it look beautiful. The price is similar in other place. The one I ordered is $18. When we went last, they are doing line dancing! Lots of people joining in. They also have a kid's corner and they have a playground. Lots of parking as well and very easy to drive around to find a spot. I highly recommend this place because I like how spacious it is, it's location and the food they serve.
Pros & cons! Great location & vibe. The staff are super friendly & efficient. The live entertainment & line dancing are fantastic; as is the smokehouse. That’s the pros… Inside, the place has all the cosines of a bleak, bus terminal waiting lounge. Awful lighting, seating & a buffet system order counter. The rest of the menu is freezer to micro… steer well clear of it & stick to the well-done smokehouse options. The desert options are tired & from the freezer… don’t even bother ordering these. It’s a great location & the events are fantastic… as are the staff. However, with the money they’re bringing in, surely the owners could decorate the insides a little & give it more of a country feel / theme… which is obviously the vibe they have going for the rest of the place? In conclusion - stick to the smokehouse options, sit outside & avoid desert.

Stokers Siding
Saturday night pizzas and live music beside the dam, timber cabins with verandah views, and a waterslide the kids will talk about for weeks. Hosanna is a proper Tweed Valley farmstay, ten minutes from Murwillumbah, and it's pet-friendly too.

Burleigh Heads
The almond croissant and coffee mont blanc have their own fan base at this Burleigh Heads walk-in bakery. The pastry cabinet alone is worth the detour. Arrive early on weekends, skip the risotto, and let the queue be your quality signal.

Great lunch had by us both on Wednesday. We ordered the Wed special - 250g rump steak with gravy, salad & chips. The steak was char grilled, tender, juicy and cooked to perfection (medium). The chips were crunchy, gravy flavourful & salad was simple but adequate. The staff were friendly & polite. We will definitely be back with our families soon to try the smoke master menu.
We booked a table for 12, none of us were disappointed. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and looking forward to enjoying more here in the future. I tried the butter chicken and philly cheese steak and they were both really good and I highly recommend.
Went to the Wednesday night line dancing 🕺🏻 The place was packed, the beers and drinks were flowing. The kitchen was getting slammed all night. There was a $25 steak special🥩 I would recommend getting in early, say 5pm the beat the crowds. It was a great night, definitely coming back again. Huge venue, it would be awesome watching the NRL or any big sporting event.
Carrara
A Carrara clubhouse that earns its crowd beyond the fairway. Lake views, a full bistro menu, pizza, kids' meals, and booths built for big group dinners. Thursday evening specials draw a loyal after-golf crowd. Service is genuinely attentive.
