Fran's Guinness has its own reputation. Ask any regular at this century-old North Burleigh pub and the pour will come up before the food does. The Miami has been on the Gold Coast Highway since 1925, and the two-storey renovated building sits close enough to the beach that you can cross the road and be on the sand. Order at the bar, grab a table in the beer garden, and keep expectations simple: cold beers, bistro food at prices that feel increasingly rare on the Gold Coast, and a crowd that's here to actually relax. The menu sells out fast on busy nights, so arriving before 6pm is wise. The bar runs a printed drinks list rather than a full cocktail programme. Come for a pint and a parma, not a mixologist.
This place is fantastic! It’s located right by a beautiful beach with a lovely walking path nearby. There are plenty of seats, including a dedicated area for group events, and the staff are very friendly. While I was too full to try the food this time, it’s the perfect spot to sit, chat, and host gatherings. I’m definitely coming back for brunch next time. The abundance of outdoor seating with ocean views is the highlight. There’s also a great park nearby, making it a perfect spot for families with kids.
Had the Philly Cheese Steak at Miami Tavern today and it absolutely delivered. The wagyu rump was tender, juicy and packed with flavour, layered perfectly with melted provolone, sautéed onion and capsicum, all tucked into a fresh toasted roll. The sriracha-style drizzle gave it the perfect kick without overpowering the steak. The chips were golden and crispy, and the aioli on the side tied everything together perfectly. You can tell this isn’t just your average pub sandwich — it’s proper comfort food done right. Paired with an ice-cold beer, it was honestly one of the best Philly cheesesteaks I’ve had on the Gold Coast. Great atmosphere, generous portions and seriously tasty food. Highly recommend if you’re chasing a quality feed by the beach. Definitely coming back for this again. 🌟🌟

Mermaid Beach
The avocado on toast with halloumi has a loyal following, and the beachside patio explains why. BSKT runs a broad menu covering vegan, keto, gluten-free, and paleo without the joyless health-cafe energy. Open from 5am, kitchen closes at 2:30pm.

Currumbin Valley
Tortoises in the creek, coffee trees at the entrance, and a plant-forward menu sourced from local organic growers. The Earth Buckwheat Wrap is the thing to order. Sit outside, watch the water, and let the valley do its work.

Burleigh Heads
Great and stunning location overlooking Miami Beach and children’s playground right across. Parking was easy to find and plenty. Went for lunch on a Sunday and wasn’t too busy. A decent sized tavern, plenty of space to enjoy the atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating areas, a bar downstairs and upstairs. I noticed a decent sized private/conference room upstairs on the left side as you exit the elevator. Wheelchair and baby stroller accessible and had elevators which I found very convenient. The washrooms were clean and easy to access from the eating areas. The atmosphere is very lovely and pretty. The service was brilliant, staff were approachable, helpful and friendly. Food was lovely too although the fish tacos I found was missing a sauce, it only had fish and slaw. Usually everywhere else I’ve had it at has a sauce so I wasn’t sure if that’s how it’s normally served here but I used good old aioli sauce that came with another meal for the fish tacos. All in all, I enjoyed the experience and it was my second time here.
As burleigh locals we came here by accident today as our restaurant was going through renovations. We couldn't be more pleased 6 of us enjoying all meals and warm service. Highly recommend crispy barramundi and the salmon with cauliflower puree with kale (which was a senior meal) everyone totally agreed and will definitely make it a regular visit.
The food was delicious and well priced. The beer was cold and served by friendly staff. The views and atmosphere were fantastic. 👍👍👍
A weatherboard café with a garden courtyard that draws Gold Coast crowds for good reason. The Dubai chocolate French toast is the order everyone's photographing, but the jam doughnut and Benny bagel are the real regulars' picks. Fast service, generous portions, and baked goods made in-house.
