The crocodile bites are real crocodile, perfectly seasoned, and they go well with a classic daiquiri made from rum distilled on the property. Husk Farm is Australia's first agricultural rum distillery, running a genuine farm-to-bottle operation on volcanic soil in the Tweed Valley. The cane grows here, gets crushed here, fermented and aged here. The Tasting Trail Tour walks you through all of it, from the barrels you can see from the restaurant to the history of the estate. The open-sided dining room works in any weather, the staff know their product cold, and the coconut rum has converted more than a few sceptics. It's a 30-minute drive from Byron, but the setting over the Caldera farmlands makes the detour easy to justify. Book ahead on weekends.
We recently did the tour at Husk Farm Distillery with close friends and it was beyond what we expected. Fun, educational, informative and such a beautiful experience from start to finish. Mark was a fantastic guide, sharing the history of Husk, the growing of the cane and the full process from harvesting through to distilling and bottling. It was fascinating learning how much care and craftsmanship goes into every bottle. We were welcomed with a drink under the umbrellas overlooking the paddocks, cows, cane fields and beautiful gardens. Such a relaxing setting. The grounds are stunning, filled with botanicals they use in their gin and rum blends. The Ink Gin was amazing and although I’ve never been much of a rum drinker, thanks to a few bad younger year experiences like many of us 😂, I can honestly say I’ve been converted. The Husk Rare Blend and Coconut Rum were my favourites. After the tour we enjoyed the Farm Feast set menu lunch and added the hot honey halloumi. Wow, wow and wow. The food, drinks and service were all fabulous. We’ve visited before on busy weekends, but going on a Wednesday was perfect. Peaceful, relaxed and we could really savour the flavours and warm atmosphere. Even with the cool rainy weather, it was comfortable and well organised, with umbrellas provided for the outdoor sections of the tour. A beautiful day out and highly recommended for anyone wanting a unique Northern Rivers experience.
Experienced the Husk Farm Distillery for the first time ever last week for Easter Sunday. Unfortunately our booking wasn't without a few hiccups. The staff were lovely and even with the delay in having to line up even though we had a booking, the staff handled everything perfectly and we only had to wait about 10-15 minutes over our booking time. We had a couple of bites to share together, but my highlight for sure was the drinks on offer. The white rum with pineapple drink I had was just superb. The weather was pristine and the atmosphere matched it. Will definitely be back!

Burleigh Heads
The Moreton Bay bug roll has its own reputation, and the coconut prawn curry with housemade roti backs it up. Right on Burleigh Heads beach, open windows facing the water, Pan-Asian menu with a chef's hat. Sunset bookings go fast for good reason.

Mermaid Beach
The avocado on toast with halloumi has a loyal following, and the beachside patio explains why. BSKT runs a broad menu covering vegan, keto, gluten-free, and paleo without the joyless health-cafe energy. Open from 5am, kitchen closes at 2:30pm.

Beautiful venue with amazing drinks. We didn't stay for food but the menu looked 👌 Rory was a great help and showed us a few different drinks and tastings. Ended up buying a few bottles! Well worth it. Would recommend!
My wife and I visited for lunch on Wednesday. From start to finish we could not fault any aspect of our experience, be it the beautiful food, excellent cocktails with ingredients made on site, or the super friendly prompt service. Special mention for Nikki , and Charlie for looking after us and our section. Also lovely to meet Harriet. We would highly recommend visiting Husk for a relaxing afternoon in a beautiful setting. Looks good from a distance, falls apart up close. We walked around trying to find a table because none were cleared, and when we finally did it was still covered in glasses, plates and ants crawling across it. That’s basic hygiene not being handled. Food came out fast but tasted average at best nowhere near worth the price. No system, no flow, clearly understaffed tables aren’t cleared no one managing the floor everything just backs up. The photos say it all dirty tables everywhere and an “overflow carpark” that’s just a churned up mud pit with tyre ruts. For a place built around alcohol there’s also no proper non-alcoholic options for designated drivers which is pretty poor. They clearly make serious money here but none of it goes back into staff cleaning or upkeep feels like profit first everything else second. Staff are trying this is on management. Go to Tumbulgum Tavern instead or take a drive out to Tyalgum Hotel much more fun. Owners need to wake up.
A Burleigh fixture with a QHA award-winning sports bar and a beer garden built for long afternoons. The $25 steak burger and schooner special is the move. Solid pub fare, free parking, and family-friendly enough to bring the kids.
