Station Street's full-size supermarket does what no farmers market or deli run can fully replace: stocks the lot, at everyday prices, seven days a week. Mullumbimby's Woolworths carries the standard national range, which means you can pick up pantry staples, fresh produce, deli items, and household basics without driving to Lismore or Byron. The store serves the broader Mullum valley, so it draws a genuine cross-section of locals rather than a tourist crowd. Prices sit at the lower end of what you'll pay in the region, which counts for something when Byron's independent spots, good as they are, can add up fast. If you're self-catering in the hinterland, this is your most practical weekly shop.
The blonde, mature woman who appeared to be the manager was unexpectedly rude. I came in at 6:45pm as I’m pregnant and needed to get some food. Right at 7, she abruptly pretended not to understand my accent and then told my partner to “hurry up” while I was grabbing something. We had only gone a few minutes past closing, and the rest of the staff were lovely. This interaction felt unnecessarily dismissive, somewhat personal, and slightly discriminatory.
There is only one IGA and the Woolworths in Mullumbimby for groceries. Woolworths is by far the cheaper of the two. Plenty of stock on the shelves. Quite busy each time I visited. Staff are very friendly as well. Located on the edge of the shopping centre, there's plenty of parking. One odd thing is a 2.8 metre height restriction on the carpark, though there's no overhead covering or shade inside? It creates parking problems for some TV'S and other larger vehicles, who must park in the street.

Byron Bay
A bead shop on Jonson Street stocked for makers and browsers alike. Charms, findings, and raw materials for jewellery projects from beginner kits to more serious restocking runs. Small, specific, and worth slowing down for.

Byron Bay
Byron's main full-service supermarket, sitting quietly off Bayshore Drive near the Arts & Industry Estate. Better parking than anywhere near town, standard supermarket pricing, and the kind of reliable stock that makes self-catering in Byron actually viable.

I liked shopping here, overall it's one of the best supermarkets in the area i'd say
Great shopping has every thing you need. Be early for the bread it goes fast.
Does this place have a manager? Empty shelves first thing in the morning. I'm telling you empty even the bread section. It's been that way since it opened. Mullum needs an Aldi or similar.

Tucked into the Habitat lifestyle precinct on Porter Street, this cafe draws a crowd that's more local than tourist. A quieter alternative to the main strip, with the kind of unhurried pace that makes a second coffee feel reasonable.
