A converted 1950s milk bar steps from The Pass. Top Shop is where locals go before a dawn surf — strong coffee, deluxe acai bowls, and the best avo on toast in the shire. No frills, no reservations, no pretence. Just good food on the way to the beach.
This was the best acai bowl we had in Byron bay. It’s perfect and simple and not a bunch of random stuff. The acai was also super flavourful and the right texture. Coffees were also good!
The staff were super friendly and relaxed. It had the feeling of a nice local family business. I had the "The Shop burger 🍔 which was very nice. My Wife had a vegie burger, she said it was a bit plain, it needed chilli chutney or something like that 🤔. The Cafe was pretty busy, however our food came quickly. I think we timed it well to get a table straight away.
YUMMY AÇAI!!🍓🫐 best açai in all of Byron bay. The fruit on top was SO fresh. Service was super quick, coffee was good quality, overall a great vibe☺️

Wategos Beach
Directly above the sand at Wategos Beach, Raes Dining Room is Byron's most location-loaded fine dining address. Mediterranean-leaning seafood, full-occasion pricing, and a room that makes the most of one of the coast's prettiest coves. Book the terrace.

Byron Bay
Corner of Jonson Street, Folk is the kind of all-day café that earns its place through good bones rather than spectacle. Warm timbers, honest café fare, mid-range pricing, and a front-row seat to Byron's main strip.

Byron Bay
The cutest little cafe! The coffee was fantastic, and the pastries/cakes were absolutely delicious—especially the banana bread, which was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The staff were so lovely and friendly, creating such a warm and welcoming vibe. The setting is just perfect, with outdoor seating to soak up the sunshine while enjoying your morning coffee. I can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely be back!
A great place on a quiet street with a pleasant atmosphere. Always crowded, but plenty of seating. Delicious burgers and sandwiches, and pretty good coffee.
Tucked into Jonson Lane, away from the main-street circus, Bang Bang keeps things casual and affordable. The kind of spot that rewards locals who know their way around the back streets of Byron.
