Reflections Byron Bay - Holiday Park
Byron Bay · Accommodation
(505 reviews)
Sitting at the base of Cape Byron Lighthouse, this is about as well-positioned as camping gets in Byron Bay. Reflections Holiday Parks is a NSW government-run network, which means the facilities are maintained, the prices are more grounded than most Byron accommodation, and you're not competing with boutique hotel markups. Expect powered and unpowered sites, cabins, and amenities blocks rather than infinity pools and linen menus. The real draw is proximity: the lighthouse walk starts at your doorstep, Wategos Beach is a short stroll down the headland, and the sunrise from this end of town is the one locals actually set an alarm for. Book well ahead for school holidays and summer. This is not the flashiest place to sleep in Byron, but the location does the heavy lifting.

What People Say
This was an ideal location for a Byron Bay getaway. Perfect location for the beach and feeling humbled by the seclusion amongst the greenery of the area and local wildlife scattered throughout the park. We even encountered one of the most friendly kookaburras. Our room was clean and spacious with all the conveniences required, including the much needed air conditioning. The communication via text keeping us informed of the events happening in and around the park was awesome and the staff upon check in were so helpful. Definitely a great experience and would book here again.
An amazing location, but what a disappointment for us with regards to our booking & customer service experience with Reflections Byron Bay. We have stayed at other Reflections holiday parks before but this has to be one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. Let me start from the beginning, after calling their publicly listed contact number last week, a lady on the line messed up our booking but later rectified it over the phone. Next we arrived at the park today driving 7plus hours from Sydney to being told at checkin that our camp spot was given to someone else as ‘no notes were made of our camp site booking’. (Even though we paid over the phone & were told our selected camp site number) *Apparently when you call Reflections Byron Bay for some reason you are speaking to Reflections Newcastle - if that even makes sense. *Also they told us at reception that their policy is no guarantee of your spot when you arrive ?? Again no sense at all. After all you book & pay for your site prior - to secure it don’t you. Other camp sites were offered to us but they did not suit our needs. Since we experienced 2 mishaps with them both at booking & at check in we calmly asked for an upgrade to other accommodation options only to be told ‘no can’t do that’ by the 2 people at reception. We are regular campers & in most cases if errors or mishaps happen from parks end, they usually offer upgrades or other suitable alternatives to keep their guests happy. I understand caravan parks can sometimes be at capacity but literally the poor customer service & care we received from staff at reception today was not pleasing at all. As a result, we will not be coming back to this caravan park again. If Caravan Park Management do not like dealing with people, then they’re in the wrong profession. Ferda & Alex Sydney
I wish this were an exaggeration, but I’ve paid less for a private hotel room in Brisbane than for the smallest patch of dirt to park my campervan here. Our first site was extremely cramped and far too close to other campers. I went to reception to ask if another spot might be available. They kindly said they would check the next day, but I never heard back from them. We ended up extending our stay for two additional nights due to mechanical issues that prevented us from driving. The new site was acceptable, until we realized we were being charged $30 more per night than we had previously paid. I’m not sure how that pricing strategy encourages repeat customers. So yes, the location near the beach is great — but I don’t think I’ll be staying at another Reflection during the rest of my travels.
We stayed in a "glamping", round tent and it was exactly what we expected. Spacious, comfortable bed, aircon (amazing after hot day on the beach) and small bar fridge. It's a tightly packed camping ground so can be a little noisy. The amenities are kept clean around the clock. Good cooking area. The staff are very friendly. The location is amazing, you can hear the waves on the beach in bed, and everything is close by.
Good campsite in a stunning location! Friendly people to check you in. On the down side, they give you a SEVEN digit access code for the bathrooms which is REALLY irritating! I don't know why they need to do that because all the people in the campsite have paid and are residents. And if you really have to give an access code, make it 3 digits.

Raes on Wategos
Wategos Beach
The only property sitting directly on Wategos Beach, Raes trades on position and a long-running restaurant reputation. Mediterranean in feel, small in scale, and priced accordingly. If you're going to spend up in Byron, the address alone makes a reasonable argument.

Elements of Byron
Byron Bay
Forty-five acres of coastal wetland, freestanding villas pointed at the trees, and private beach access. Elements sits deliberately apart from Byron's centre. The distance from the main strip isn't a drawback; it's the whole idea.

Aquarius Backpackers Resort
Byron Bay
The cafe attached to one of Byron's longest-running backpacker hostels keeps things simple: filling breakfasts, casual plates, and prices that reflect the crowd. On Lawson Street, close to the beach, and open to non-guests. Unpretentious and useful.

The Bower Byron Bay
Byron Bay
A boutique stay on Bangalow Road, sitting between the town centre and the hinterland edge. Pitched at the quieter, more considered end of Byron's accommodation market. Mid-to-upper price point, residential feel, and close enough to walk but far enough to sleep.
