Lawson Street puts you about as close to the sand as you can get without sleeping on it. First Sun Holiday Park sits at the eastern edge of town, a short walk from Main Beach and the Cape Byron walking track. The park offers a range of accommodation options, from powered sites to cabins, making it one of the few places in Byron where you can pitch a tent or pull in a van and still be central. It draws a mixed crowd: families, long-haul travellers, surfers who'd rather spend money on boards than beds. Facilities are on-site and the location does a lot of the heavy lifting. Without recent reviews to draw from, it's hard to call specifics, but the address alone is the pitch. In Byron, proximity to the beach at this price point is rare.
This is my 2nd time staying here in the last 6 months and I’ve loved it both times. The cabins are comfortable, it’s an easy walk into town for shopping and to get to the restaurants. The beachside social night on Saturday with the Kombi Keg is such a great touch and makes the stay even more fun. Looking forward to coming back again!
Fabulous location. Right on the beach and a two minute walk from the shops. Perfect. Had a powered site, a little tucked away from the main section but enough for our three night stay. We didn't use the kitchen amenities but they looked great. The washers and dryers did a great job.
Just returned from a wonderful time at Firstsunholidaypark at Byron Bay. It was our second holiday as we loved it so much 2 years ago,it was an easy choice to go back. The staff ,amenities, cleanliness were brilliant, and the fact it is nice and quiet,so you feel relaxed as soon as you arrive.A simple 2 minute walk and you’re in the heart of town. Look them up and make it your next holiday destination, you won’t regret it. P & J Feb 2026

Wategos Beach
The only property sitting directly on Wategos Beach, Raes trades on position and a long-running restaurant reputation. Mediterranean in feel, small in scale, and priced accordingly. If you're going to spend up in Byron, the address alone makes a reasonable argument.

Byron Bay
Forty-five acres of coastal wetland, freestanding villas pointed at the trees, and private beach access. Elements sits deliberately apart from Byron's centre. The distance from the main strip isn't a drawback; it's the whole idea.

Byron Bay
Where you sleep matters. Byron Bay's best romantic stays range from freestanding wetland villas at Elements of Byron to the Mediterranean stillness of Raes on Wategos, with a few quieter options for couples who find luxury resorts exhausting. Here is the considered shortlist, from genuine splurges to smart budget picks.
Byron Bay accommodation runs from a dorm bunk near the lighthouse to a freestanding villa on forty-five acres of coastal wetland. The choice shapes the whole trip. Here is the full spectrum, by budget tier, with suburb context and honest assessments of what you are actually paying for.
I had the most incredible stay at First Sun Holiday Park, and it was all thanks to the amazing park managers, Jacynta and James. They went so far above and beyond to look after me and truly made my stay unforgettable. Their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care created such a welcoming environment, I felt safe, and so well taken care of the entire time. The park itself is beautiful, clean, and perfectly located, but it was the exceptional service from Jacynta and James that made this experience a standout. I can’t recommend this holiday park highly enough. If you’re thinking of staying here, do it! You’ll be looked after better than you could ever expect.
First time staying here and it was fantastic! We stayed for 4 nights on a girls trip and the location right in town made it so convenient to go out at night and simply walk back to our cabins. Being right on the beach was perfect for morning beach walks. Was greeted by staff that were lovely and met the lovely managers at the drinks by the water on Saturday which is such a great way to meet others on holidays. We had a great stay and will come back again!
Seventeen acres of subtropical rainforest on Broken Head Road, with carbon-neutral credentials that hold up to scrutiny. Far enough from town to feel like a proper escape, close enough to matter. The southern Byron address is the point.
