Palm Beach Dog Off-Leash Beach

Watch a greyhound sprint flat-out alongside a labrador who can barely keep up, both of them completely losing their minds in the shallows. That's the energy at Palm Beach's off-leash stretch, a long, calm inlet beach on the Gold Coast where dogs of every size and temperament converge for what reviewers genuinely describe as 'the best time'. The water is sheltered enough for a proper swim, and a cut-through to the open ocean adds distance for the keener walkers. Shade, nearby bathrooms, a cafe, and a kids' playground mean the humans are reasonably well looked after too. Parking directly on the beach road fills up fast, but a spot across the road is a two-minute walk. Come early on weekends.

What People Say
Nice long stretch of beach for off leash fun. Some shady areas to sit and close to bathrooms and cafe.
This is our favourite dog & paddle boarding beach. We spend hours here soaking up the sun & the good vibes. Parking can be a bit tricky but we usually find a spot (even if it's across the road). A cafe & kids playground nearby too, win win.
One of the best offleach dog beaches in the Gold coast.
On of our favourite dog beaches. The inlet is calm and a great place for a swim and you can cut through to the ocean and beach for a walk. We usually end up parking over the road a couple of minutes walk away.
Fantastic spot. The water is calm and nice. But the dogs.....if you are a dog lover this is the place! All dogs large and small just having the best time. Genuinely a good time.
More Services in Gold Coast Hinterland

Hinterland Regional Park
Mudgeeraba
Sixty-two hectares of Mudgeeraba bushland with a fenced dog park, shaded playground, and sheltered BBQ areas wired for electricity. The forest walk is better than it looks on the map, the bird life is genuinely good, and Sunday crowds are rarely a problem.

Tree Top Walkway
O'Reilly
Suspension bridges through the rainforest canopy, a vertical tree ladder, and lorikeets that land on your arm. The circuit takes about an hour with kids. The narrow mountain road up is the only drama, and even that's half the adventure.

Cougal Cascade
Currumbin Valley
Sealed path, generous car park, and a series of rainforest cascades with swimming holes that reward even the most casual visitor. The water runs crystal clear, the sunlight filters through the canopy, and the whole thing takes less effort than you'd expect. Come mid-week to avoid the crowds.

Coplick Family Sports Park
Tallebudgera
Flat, well-kept soccer and baseball fields in Tallebudgera, with parking that actually copes on tournament days. The small lake catches a nice sunset from the sidelines. Bring a change of shoes after rain — the grass holds water and sticks to everything.
